39% of people who voted for Trump are regretting it now:

I'm shocked.... /sarcasm

Guess it's an senseless battle for "repeal & replace"....

"House GOP leaders postponed Thursday’s planned vote on their ObamaCare replacement bill, sources say, a devastating setback that signals Republicans are far short of the votes needed to pass the legislation."

Trump is planning on forcing a vote Friday to "force everyone's hand."

This stuff gets crazier and crazier... *sigh*

-C!

ObamaCare stands strong as Trump and Republicans fail in their attempts at "Repeal and Replacing " it.

Sight tangent for the moment:

Where can one go for straight-up US-based news these days? CNN has unfortunately taken Trump's "Fake News" bait and taken themselves out of the running with needlessly snaky headlines like "White House press secretary attacks media for accurately reporting inauguration crowds", and one I just saw - "Media basher Trump calls media to defend bill failure". Look, I get it CNN, you don't like being called Fake News, and this President IS an asshole - but stooping to his level just makes you look more unprofessional than him - since you all should at least know better as a supposed trusted news source. They were my de facto news source for years, but this headline that I just saw was the straw that broke the camel's back.

MSNBC blew that away with Rachel Maddow's ridiculous tease and reveal of (illegally?) leaking Trump's 2005 tax returns, which looks to have amounted to much ado about nothing. I don't at all mind seeing Trump taken down, but stupid crying wolf attacks like this dilute more serious issues about him that they should be pursuing.

FoxNews was never in the running anyway, obviously.

Is there anyone left without a blatant self-serving agenda?

"It took 16 weeks to draft the Constitution and another
40 weeks to ratify it. If American politicians had to do
it today, they’d fight for a month and then just copy
and paste a script from “Schoolhouse Rock.”

Saw this in a post on Faux News by Chris Stirewalt and
found it really hit home.

I subscribe to the New York Times. If Trump hates it so much, it must be doing something right.

The Republican Health Care bill failed... and I wonder if TrumpCare losing suited the Republicans just fine.

They can claim that they tried their best to repeal and replace the ACA.

They have left the door open to try to do so again with a record of having REALLY tried to do it... damn those Democrats.

The ACA is STILL in place... 24 million people DIDN'T lose insurance... and the benefits to the upper 1% of the tax base can always be crammed in elsewhere. So an insurance plan is STILL there.

Seems that the Republicans didn't get their victory... but their loss may turn out to be (or at least to be spun as) a pretty damned good outcome.

I dunno. Knucklehead Just can't resist the urge to say whatever
reactive thoughts cross his mind. He's already made a passive
aggressive statement about this being "a lesson in loyalty".

I don't see how the defeat of TrumpCare can be viewed as a good outcome for the Republicans.  There's no way they can plausibly blame the Democrats for this.  It really does make them look divided and incompetent.

Best of all, it likely makes it impossible for Paul Ryan to enact his overarching dream of permanent massive tax cuts for the super-rich.  As is discussed here, without the dismantling of Obamacare happening first, Ryan will have to settle for a tax cut that expires in ten years (as Bush did) rather than a permanent one.
