I think the Falcons' defense will give Rodgers a run for his money. If the Packers win, it won't be by much.

If the Steelers beat the Patriots, after they way they played against the Chiefs, it will be a miracle.

Green Bay/New England.

I think the Atlanta/Green Bay game will come down to who has the ball last, which, to me, gives the advantage to Green Bay.

I don't think New England will win by much either. Their offense isn't especially dominant and I think Pittsburgh's offense last week was a fluke (or a testament to Kansas City.) The Steelers can score points.

Atlanta has called for boycot of all cheese till after the game, at which point we can eat the cheese filled tears of Packer fans. The 2010 playoff loss still stings for the falcons (fans). The Seattle game was spectacular indication of how we will handle the packers. If you are going to only look at the last half of the season for the packers then you have to do that with the Flacons Defence. Since they buy they have been playing with poise and purpose. Not error free but the first half of the season was really on the job training for Neal and others.

The falcons D doesn't have to play lights out, they just have to slow GB down and stop them a few times. Get a turnover.  Ryan, Freeman, Jones, Coleman, Sanu, and the rest will take care of the rest.

Falcons 36 GB 28

Steelers at Pats. Stupid Chiefs. I'm still mad at Oakland for Tom Brady.
You know The salary cap was supposed to make all teams equal. Partiy they said.  Baseball has had more different teams in the playoffs than the NFL  by like 3 to 1.  Stupid Football.

Welcome to the Falcons bandwagon one and all enjoy your stay!

Sunday, January 22

  • Packers (4th seed) at Falcons (2nd seed)
  • Steelers (3rd seed) at Patriots (1st seed)

I think any of the teams could win, but going with the home teams because of injuries, plus I think the home teams defenses are tough.

I didn't expect two blowouts but mistakes caught up with Green Bay (who really needs a defense) and Pittsburgh just couldn't make the big plays.

Looks like the two best teams are set to face-off!

Falcons looked awesome! Steelers lost their big offensive weapon, and couldn't get anything from Ben.

Go Falcons! I don't remember where they play or who plays for them but I'm a big fan now!

Agreed.  New England and Atlanta both dominated from the first quarter and neither game was particularly entertaining unless you're a Pats or Falcons fan.  Atlanta has the best offense in the game but New England's offense is also dangerous.  New England's defense is superior, particularly in the red zone.   Which isn't to say they'll be able to shut down Ryan and his receivers, but the match up is intriguing.

The two teams have limited recent history.  Since Brady came to New England in 2000, Atlanta has only played them four times, losing all four.  However, the most recent game was almost three and a half years ago in September 2013 and was competitive.

Boring games.  Here's hoping for a better Super Bowl.  Thread is ready.

Sunday, January 22

  • Packers (4th seed) at Falcons (2nd seed) Wrong
  • Steelers (3rd seed) at Patriots (1st seed) Right
Yeesh. Two boring games. Packers and Steelers just had no life in them.

Another incredible show from the new greatest show on turf (i.e the Falcons !). GB D is and was terrible and their O made just the few first mistakes that made Atlanta take the score...

Flawless performance by my Pats...LeVeonless steelers made roughgly the same mistakes as GB...missed their forst few opportunities to catch up...then explode just as stats showed they stuffed Blount...How can they stay with this zone D against Brary ???

Great stories to be told now until SB kickoff !

Go Pats, of course, Best O vs Best (scoring) D...back to 2001 ;) !!!

2-0 on the week, 8-2 in the playoffs.  One more game, then a miserable seven months off.
