I can understand a father's pride, but I'm very selective about what I'd post on social media. There's a lot of pervs out there and I wouldn't want to provide my daughter as potential "material" for them!!!

Reading the headline, I was worried she'd be underage. But, she's 21 and was posing for the picture, so the 'creepy' part would be if it was posted without her knowledge.

"Trump's lawyer."

That's all that needs to be said.

Sure, fathers routinely display sexy negligee pictures of their daughters.

Consenting (yet still stupid) adults?  I'm not disputing that the dad could still be an asshole, but...
Anyway, it's only news because it's some guy would otherwise be a nonentity if he didn't work for Darksei..er, Trump.

BTW, is Edie Sedgwick supposed to be famous enough that anyone reading  the story can infer who she was with no context provided? (I do now, after Googling).

If anything, "consent" only increases the ick factor.

I'm not sure that trying to emulate Edie Sedgwick in any way is the best image to go for.

Looks like this girl is going for some modeling career. In that sense I can see why he'd be 'promoting' her. In the time it took me to Google her Instagram account and do a quick refresh, she had picked up over 2 dozen followers. Wouldn't be the first time I've seen a proud parent posting a child's modeling pics online to drum up followers for their kid, whether it's a dad promoting a daughter or mom promoting a son.

My question is... who the hell has the time and energy to follow a Trump lawyer on Twitter? I wouldn't know who the hell he was until this came up.

I'm so distant from all kinds of social media that all this is rather alien to me. Like Michael Casselman above said, it's my understanding that models find work through instagram and such.

Yet, I can't imagine that her father is such a naif that he didn't count on his Tweeting (ugh! I detest using that word!) creating exactly the kind of sensationalist interest it did, leading people pro and con to ultimately follow the link he included to his daughter's instagram account.

Again, I know virtually nothing about how models use social media for jobs, but I am the father of a college-age girl and, if she were a model -- and I were Trump's lawyer to boot! -- I would not have done as he did, not even remotely. There have to be "proper channels" for modeling, nu?

Well, she wasn't born a Kardashian, so it was an uphill struggle from there..

Trump himself has expressed some weird, borderline incestuous praise about his daughter Ivanaka. I guess men who seek out trophy wives end up seeing their daughters the same way, as trophies.

This reminds me of when i worked in a shop, the mother
of a girl i knew from our year when I was at school
came into the shop and showed a picture of the
daughter on her Hen Night dressed in a basque, short
skirt and stockings to my boss who was in his 50`s,the
mother looked at me and said words to the effect
of,i`m not showing you! This has puzzled me since...how
creepy to show the pic to a stranger without the
daughter`s knowledge, how creepy that said stranger was
a man in his 50`s and what did the mother hope to gain
by showing said picture?I must add that the mother
knew that i knew her daughter, but i only knew her
vaguely and had no interest in her anyway.I guess
people ARE strange!

There's strange, and then there's creepy strange.

I cling to the notion that being able to recognize the latter keeps me from slipping over the line!

I don't know how often it happens, but my late uncle (my mom's brother-in-law) used to keep an 8x10 sexy negligee picture of his daughter (a fitness model/personal trainer
type) prominently displayed in both his home and office. So yeah, creepy.

At what point does one become a perv? I'm sure it's
fluid in each person's opinion, but there has to be a
line that most agree on.

Most people we would tend to define as "perverts" are very damaged. Their lives have left them throughly disgusted with themselves, and that self-loathing manifests in doing the most disgusting things (to themselves and others) they can conceive.

Unfortunately, it's not clean cut, and there are those sociopaths who simply do not care. Nature has erased in them any sense of "right" and "wrong".

A distinction I've often made in my own mind comes down the the sometimes frightening power of imagination. In my work, I have from time to time found myself imagining some truly horrific stuff, but what keeps me from crossing that line into "perversion" is that I feel no urge to act upon what I imagine. I can draw it, but I don't feel the need to DO it.

The line crossed in this case is that most fathers would
tell their daughters to cover up,not flaunt the pics of
them scantily clad for the general public to lust over!
