At what point does one become a perv? I'm sure it's fluid in each person's opinion, but there has to be a line that most agree on.•• Most people we would tend to define as "perverts" are very damaged. Their lives have left them throughly disgusted with themselves, and that self-loathing manifests in doing the most disgusting things (to themselves and others) they can conceive. Unfortunately, it's not clean cut, and there are those sociopaths who simply do not care. Nature has erased in them any sense of "right" and "wrong". A distinction I've often made in my own mind comes down the the sometimes frightening power of imagination. In my work, I have from time to time found myself imagining some truly horrific stuff, but what keeps me from crossing that line into "perversion" is that I feel no urge to act upon what I imagine. I can draw it, but I don't feel the need to DO it.
