Matthew, the FF/Hitler story is in FF # 291-292

Back in the days when a cover had enough drama to make you think they were action comics.

(The story arc sort of begins in #289 but the 'time travel' bit doesn't begin until #291).

Ah, more Shooter interference! It was at his insistence that the utterly ridiculously "OR DO WE?" line was added to Sue's dialog on that second cover. Totally at odds with the action in the image, and with anything like natural speech patterns. But this was when Shooter was deep into his inflexible demand that every story -- EVERY story -- be "I must, but I must not!"

Like the idea of the FF having to prevent Fury from killing Hitler didn't present enough of a WTF moment for the cover!!

sigh

I think y'all are forgettin' 2112/Next Men!

Though to be fair I don't consider 2112/NM to be strictly time travel stories --more stories where time travel is an element/window dressing.  It's not the main focus.

edit:  ISTR JB musing about doing a '6116' story at one point.

Given all the time travel associated with the Flash, I'd be curious to see JB do a story with Barry (or a different speedster) involving a different twist into time travel.

Non-comics, but "Monument" is an absolutely brilliant time travel story...

I did indeed.

And I think it was key element of the plot, from Sathanas and Thomas Kirkland both traveling back from 2112 to the whole of the Scattered arc.

Thomas Kirkland was my favourite character across the series and, after the reveal with Hilltop / Sathanas, I was convinced that Kirkland was to be triggered and become Tannen living all the way thru to 2112 where he would take on a young Thomas Kirkland as his apprentice who subsequently has to pretend to be Tannen before travelling back in time only for it all to happen again and again (a la Sathanas and Hilltop). Shows you what I know!

There are some cards that should be played only once in a series!

Hippolyta traveling back in time to be the WWII-ear Wonder Woman gets my vote.

Charles, Speed Force #1 and Wonder Woman #129 just may contain the super-speedster story you're looking for. In this case the speedster featured is Jay Garrick, the original Flash.

Ha! I'm sure you're right.

And, JB, am I right in recalling that you had not originally intended Sathanas Hilltop to be one and the same but incorporated it after somebody "guessed" it? At the back of my mind, it was colorist Matt Webb but I may be misremembering.
