Curtin was so good in those early SNL seasons... a real shame that she, Gilda Radner and Laraine Newman were never given their fair share in film work afterwards.  Somewhat telling how all of the male stars shared or popped-up together in each other's post-SNL films, but the women (and even Garrett Morris) had nary a cameo in any of them.

Jane Curtain had arguably the best TV career of the original SNL cast. I don't think she missed out on anything.  She was also of course in the Coneheads movie.  (a film I have a soft spot for).

I am a big fan of the Coneheads movie. Who would ever have expected so much heart in a movie like that?

My first exposure to her was on the rather mundane "Kate & Allie." It wasn't until later that I realized just how talented she was. She and Lithgow were a classic comedy team on "3rd Rock From the Sun."
