"Let's Make A Deal" was a fixture in probably many of our childhoods.

It's reported that he was incredibly philanthropic, helping to raise tens of millions of dollars and contributing much of his wealth to help others. An iconic gameshow host, but an even better human being.

I don't know much about him. But I like what I did read.

I'm not sure US gameshows were shown on UK TV (not much, anyway), but I know that his style of presenting, and the gameshows he hosted, were influential. I'm sure some of our gameshows, whilst having different names, were influenced by those that Monty Hall presented.

There was a UK game show with the 'Let's Make a Deal' format, but it was called 'Trick or Treat', and was only on briefly, in early 1989, so most Brits missed out on it.
The 'Monty Hall Problem' has become well-known on the internet:

The Monty Hall Problem was posed to me as a job interview question 20 years ago (though it was posed as a generic "A gameshow host shows you three doors...").

Long before it became fashionable for celebrities to appear as themselves in prime-time cartoons, Mr. Hall made an appearance on WAIT TILL YOUR FATHER GETS HOME in the early 70's.

It's never mentioned on any of the clickbait lists either (but those are more obsessed with Justin Bieber and the like appearing on the Simpsons)
