If the Vikings win and the Eagles lose, you'd better get all your grocery shopping done tout suite because Minnesota traffic is gonna be a bitch for the next several weeks.

Saturday

  • Afternoon game: Falcons (6th seed) at Eagles (1st seed)
  • Evening game: Titans (5th seed) at Patriots (1st seed) Aw, good for you, Titans! See you next year!

Sunday

  • Early game: Jaguars (3rd seed) at Steelers (2nd seed) Meh, why not. Hoping they make it a game.
  • Late game: Saints (4th seed) at Vikings (2nd seed) Hard to bet against Brees and the Saints right now, but the Vikings are on a collision course with football history.

I'm picking the Titans, Eagles, Jags, Vikings.

Of course, to beat the Pats you also have to beat the officiating, so that's unlikely....

  • Afternoon game: Falcons (6th seed) at Eagles (1st seed)- There is a flaw within the Falcons but they can still win if they can overcome their own doubts.
  • Evening game: Titans (5th seed) at Patriots (1st seed)- Picking with the heart.

Sunday

  • Early game: Jaguars (3rd seed) at Steelers (2nd seed)- D-Fense!
  • Late game: Saints (4th seed) at Vikings (2nd seed)- Got to root for the "Black & Blue" division from here on out.

Watched 3 out of the 4 games last weekend (not Bills Jags). They were all pretty entertaining . Let's hope the same this weekend.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Vikings in the Super Bowl in their own stadium.  It's about time a team did that.

Some intriguing matchups this week.   First #1 seeded home underdog in NFL history (Eagles), another team destroyed at home 30-9 by their opponent is a touchdown favorite (Pittsburgh), another team with reports of player dissension and even dislike between the coach, QB and owner are nearly a two touchdown favorite (Patriots).

Saturday

  • Falcons at Eagles - Atlanta bandwagon loading up... have they timed their peak perfectly or fooled us again?
  • Titans at Patriots - Titans impressive last week but Belichick and time to prepare means goodnight Tennessee.

Sunday

  • Jaguars at Steelers -  Least confident about this game, but trusting my feelings and hoping Le'Veon Bell romps.
  • Saints at Vikings - Minnesota handled the underdog Saints but it was more than four months ago and the Saints are not the same.  The new fancy indoor facility would seem to favor Brees.

Saturday

  • Afternoon game: Falcons (6th seed) at Eagles (1st seed) - I think the Eagles without Wentz are a paper tiger.
  • Evening game: Titans (5th seed) at Patriots (1st seed) - Can't pick against the Pats at home in a divisional round.

Sunday

  • Early game: Jaguars (3rd seed) at Steelers (2nd seed) - Did you see Blake play last week? He set the forward passing game back fifty years.
  • Late game: Saints (4th seed) at Vikings (2nd seed) - Our toughest opponent on the road to being the first team to play in the Super Bowl in their home stadium.  Sorry Falcons and Eagles fans.  It's a different team than we faced and beat Week 1, but so too is our team without Bradford and Cook.  We're 7-1 at home, so we seem to like the "new fancy indoor facility" just fine, and we have a dominating D.  I'll put up what we have against what they have any day of the week. SKOL VIKINGS!!!!!!

Well, I was right about everything. Except the Pats, which I sorta called.

If only the Pats can fall on their face next week, so we can have a guaranteed new Champion!!

The most amazing finish I've ever witnessed in my long history of being a Vikings fan.  Instantly etched in lore.  One of the most incredible plays in postseason history.

As a Vikings fan you have to understand that we typically lose those kinds of games.  Wild Card, Divisional, Championship or Super Bowl.  We lose them. It's been the Vikings history ever since we came into the league 57 years ago. That we found a way to win when odds were great that we'd lose is a testament to this team at this moment.

I screamed myself hoarse and my eyes welled up with tears.  We live to fight another day in this magical 2017 season where most teams who lose both their starting QB and RB would have long ago folded.

Bring on the Eagles! SKOL VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brees played well enough to win in the controlled climate but he left too much time on the clock at the end!   New Orleans must be shell shocked...tackle Diggs inbounds, the clock runs out (no timeouts) and the Saints win...but that was a helluva game and an amazing last play.

History was made today, my friends.  I didn't know this, but it's true per the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

Never before had a team won an NFL playoff game with a touchdown as time expired. For a franchise featuring ringless Hall of Famers, karma came in the form of an undrafted quarterback playing for his third team and starting only because of injury throwing a lottery ticket in the general direction of a fifth-round draft pick.

Amazing.

Steelers can add the Jags to that select New England echelon of teams that just have their number :(

Next week's thread is ready.

I replied immediately to Matt's "Vikings" FB thread when that last play occurred. What an ending. I'm a Vikings fan for the rest of the season for sure. =)
