JB....just ignore the internet....PLEASE......or it'll ruin all the fun you're having scratching this itch.

•••

"Found an online comment that says this project "looks weird"."

Says a person who has probably never learned how comic books are made.

•••

"Another said s'he liked the pages because they were "less cartoony"."

This one baffles me too. I don't think you've ever drawn anything that looked cartoony (unless you meant too). If fact as I say this, I wonder if s'he meant when compared to other cartoony-styled comic book artists???

A peek at something upcoming...

JB, when you're done with your itch, I would really like to learn more about your process of integrating 3D models into your pages.

Oh, it's no secret. I've been doing it for years. Only the WAY it's done has wobbled back and forth between techniques.

Mostly I use the models if I have sets or props that I wish to keep consistent thru multiple shots and angles. I think the time machine in OMAC was the first time I tried it. Then I was using a very simple architectural modeler, that could produce only geometric shapes, so I had to use shapes with shapes. Then I traced the finished model onto the page using a lightbox.

By the time I got to GENERATIONS 2 I was using a more advanced program and building models that actually looked like inked drawings. Those I printed onto the same adhesive film I used for my lettering, and mounted right on the page. I also used this technique extensively in HIDDEN YEARS.

In this project I return full circle, tracing the models. A more adaptable modeler this time, too!

One final note, since there still seem to be people who DON'T GET IT. Using the modeler is the same as using any sort of reference, except that I actually build what is being referenced. It is NOT, as some seem to think, a case of typing in "1940s Batmobile" and walking away while the computer does the rest!

This also means that Juggernaut bit doesn't work.
Sure, she could pull him down into the floor, but he
would become "one with the floor," his atoms mingled
with those of the floor. He would not be able to break
out. More likely he'd be dead.

---

Exactly how I saw it, I was very annoyed at that
Juggernaut scene. If Kitty were evil, she could take
out just about anyone with her powers.

Can she go through Invisible Woman's force field?
Never saw them encounter each other.

I'm going to say no, tho I have no "science" to back it up.

Interesting thought. Maybe in issue 4.

This reminds me of a former friend who used to complain that my use of a computer to do digital painting wasn’t “real art”.  Meanwhile, she was a columnist who wrote for the local newspaper using Microsoft Word.  She was born without a hypocracy gene.

I know you used Strata 3D for awhile. Are you still using that for your models? Or have you moved on to something else?

I'm looking at your model and I think I see a lofted profile for the creation of the main body? Is that right?

Hm. Did the She-Hulk book ever follow up on that shadowy Luthor-style character's story?

I still use Strata -- and I have no idea what a "lofted profile" is. What you're seeing there is a skinned object.
