Not being a comics person any more, I was unaware of all of this, but I have to say it has some strong appeal to me.

Just picked up my first comics in over a year... four True Believers comics!  Two copies of What If? #1 (Spidey joins the FF...one for my nephew), Tales To Astonish 35/49 (Ant Man becomes Giant Man), and FF #175 (Galactus).  High quality paper, only house ads, some cover reproductions inside, seemingly nothing missing... high class all the way.  For a buck, I'd probably buy every single silver and some bronze issues I don't already have.  They had FF#5 which I have in an inferior reprint form and I now regret not buying it (I may go back).  I hope these continue!

They are even worht a couple of bucks in the secondary market. with the X-23 selling at about 10. I love em as a store owner. If someone buys one that I have a trade for I say if you like come back and I'll give your dollar back on the Trade.

I appreciate having the ability to buy a copy of something I missed back in the 1970's.

Marvel just announced another round of FF True Believers for December, and they're all Lee/Kirby reprints for a buck a piece.

#2, 8, 15, 18, 20, 35, 36, 53, 62, and 65.

The selection appears to be based on the first appearances of FF villains, minus the ones like #5 which were reprinted a few months ago.

It's funny Marvel would name this line "TRUE BELIEVERS".... it's like they're admitting that the older material is superior to the current product!

My local comic shop has these on a spinner rack at the front of the shop, and they're a great impulse buy. Buck a pop for an issue you missed the first time around, if you're not sure you want an entire trade paperback, if you just want a fun book to round out your reading pile...it's a great thing. I don't know if they're able to get these into dollar stores nationwide, but I'd love to see that catch on.
