Cincinnati keeps forgetting to suck!

The rest:

Sunday, September 16

  •          Panthers at Falcons - Falcons home mojo to the rescue!
  •         Browns at Saints - This isn't Browns vs Saints.  This is Payton vs Williams.  I think Sean Payton will hate his way to victory.
  •         Texans at Titans - Rivalry game with potential to be nuts.      
  •         Colts at Redskins - Like I said last week (do not look what I said last week) this is a whole new Redskins team with a strong tradition of winning (this season).
  •         Chiefs at Steelers - Cheifs looked good versus a bad team last week; Steelers looked like shit versus a team they usually trounce.  I'm hoping the keel rights itself.  Pittsburgh always finds a way to eat KC's lunch, and I am trusting they will again, even with a banged-up Ben Roethlisberger.
  •         Chargers at Bills - Chargers go east, Chargers lose.  Even to the Bills.       
  •         Dolphins at Jets - Sure, why not, whatever,        
  •         Vikings at Packers - Aaron Rodgers is playing.  At least in the 1st quarter.  Vikings are gonna have Reed grinning so wide the top of his head falls off.
  •         Eagles at Buccaneers - Was last week a fluke?
  •         Cardinals at Rams - Rams outscored Cards 67-16 last season.
  •         Lions at 49ers - SF goes home and gets healthy on a reeling Detroit.
  •         Raiders at Broncos - I picked both these teams wrong last week.
  •         Patriots at Jaguars - zzzz
  •         Giants at Cowboys - Cowboys fans will learn to respect Tony Romo's role in Dak Prescott's fantastic rookie season. 

Monday, September 17

  • Seahawks at Bears - Bears D will do more of what the Broncos D did to Russell Wilson.  Wilson will be better prepared for it, but still.

  •          Panthers at Falcons - DISAGREE!!! I think OC Steve Sarkisian will ultimately end up a flop for the Dirty Birds.  His playcalling is uninspired and baffling at times. The Panthers pull out a close win. 
  •         Browns at Saints 
  •         Texans at Titans      
  •         Colts at Redskins 
  •         Chiefs at Steelers 
  •         Chargers at Bills -  DISAGREE!!!!  The Bills look awful and will continue that look throughout the season.      
  •         Dolphins at Jets     
  •         Vikings at Packers - Rodgers in.  Doesn't matter.  I don't fear him.  I would have picked the Vikes if Rodgers was 100% and handing out golden tickets to every fan.
  •         Eagles at Buccaneers - DISAGREE!!!  The Bucs come back down to Earth.
  •         Cardinals at Rams 
  •          Lions at 49ers - Was last week's ugly loss to the Jets an aberration or a sign of things to come?  I think it's a sign.  When your HC is a highly touted defensive coordinator and yet the Lions look that bad on D? UGLY.
  •          Raiders at Broncos - I thought the Gruden deal was a mistake months ago.  Nothing about the way the Raiders played last week changed my mind.
  •         Patriots at Jaguars - Leonard Fournette unlikely to play.  Bortles is still Bortles.  Jags won't get their first win v the Pats today.
  •         Giants at Cowboys - The 'boys looked dreadful last week.  Outside of Prescott, they've got no one on offense that will put a scare into any team.  Gonna be a looooong season for Jerry.

Monday, September 17

  • Seahawks at Bears - The Bears showed me something last week.  That and I think the Chickens are on the decline.  
Not a ton of disagreements this week.  Same as last week in fact.  Still, I feel pretty confident that I'll end the day 6-0 v my frenemy.  ;)

OK, so maybe I was a little too optimistic...

  •          Panthers at Falcons - WRONG!!!! HAGERMAN WINS. 
  •         Browns at Saints - Right
  •         Texans at Titans - Wrong    
  •         Colts at Redskins - Wrong
  •         Chiefs at Steelers - Wrong
  •         Chargers at Bills -  RIGHT!!!  HAGERMAN WRONG!!!!  No one pick the Bills this season.  Ever.  
  •         Dolphins at Jets - Wrong
  •          Vikings at Packers - TIE!  We should have won it.  Three missed field goals.  Carlson is gone.  Drafted in the fifth round, the highest we've ever drafted a kicker, he shat the bed not once, not twice, but three times.  Saving grace is the Packers didn't win.  We'll get 'em in Minneapolis.  SKOL VIKINGS!!!
  •         Eagles at Buccaneers - WRONG. HAGERMAN RIGHT!!!  Wow.  Who woulda thunk? 
2-7-1.  Ugly.  1-2 v Hagerman.  Tough week!

Pittsburgh's defense has traditionally STOMPED rookie QBs, but let's be honest there's two good reasons for that: the genius of Dick Lebeau, and the steady stream of Browns virgins tossed down the Steeler volcano.  So that trend had to end eventually.  But the other trend - of Pittsburgh eating Kansas City's lunch, especially at home - is dust now.

Maybe this is karma, and the Steelers will beat New England?  Or at least not lose to Jacksonville?

The only game I got to see, Vikings at Packers, was a barnburner!  It's a shame both teams couldn't win...

A shaky 7-7-1.  I had a feeling about New England but sometimes it's hard to choose between instincts and being blindly loyal to my team.
