I'm sure the NC tax issue was a factor, but I also trust Deadline.

Deadline states that the decision comes amid chatter that Warner Bros is reevaluating DC Universe in light of the upcoming WarnerMedia streaming service. It is suggestive, but the article does not draw definitive conclusions like your post above.

Time to try my hand at my own swamp monster, methinks!

Is the Heap in the public domain? Just curious.

I don't understand the decision to announce the series had been canceled before the second episode even aired.

Adam, I am pretty certain The Heap is public domain. It is reportedly so on this website: LINK.

Watched a longish clip. Didn't recognize anythingI knew, except the Swamp Thing himself, who looked pretty good. Probably the best interpretation I've seen.

Apparently Crystal Reed, the actress who plays Abby, wanted to do the white hair, but the producers said no. I have a feeling they were saving Arcane for the second season. In show, she's an orphan who was raised by the Sunderlands, but there was some shadowy figure that haunted her nightmares when her mother was still alive, who I assume will be revealed to be Arcane.
