Chiefs open as one point favorites.  Only three times in 54 Super Bowls has the spread been that tight (favorites won twice but most recently NE "upset" Seattle in 2015.)

This looks to be a fairly even match-up, so I'll side with the AFC and pick the Chiefs.

I like the Chiefs more.  They're my pick.

Taking the 49ers to win. While the Chiefs have the better QB, I think San Fran has the more complete team. Should be an absolutely epic game.

If it comes down to coaching, 49ers should win.  If it comes down to Mahomes just willing the ball down the field, Chiefs will win.

  • 49ers at Chiefs - I think (hope) that this will be an epic showdown.  Best against best. It's gotta be better than that absolute dud of a 13-3 game last season.  As I'm an NFC guy at heart, I'll be pulling for the Niners (thus my pick), but honestly have no problem with either team winning this season.  With the Niners success in the Super Bowl era, one title back of the Pats & Steelers, I could totally get behind the Chiefs winning their first in 50 years and their second overall.

I'm picking the 49ers, but really don't care who wins. Should be a good game, though.

Defense wins championships.  We'll see if that old adage comes true with this game.

Like Brian, I really don't care who wins, but I'm leaning a bit towards KC at the moment.

No favorite of mine but I'd like to enjoy an epic game, 49ers know how to offer us such games, KC is a highlight team. May be the best win, with no referee impact !!!

Another country heard from, hey Philippe!  A lot of us seem to be in the same boat; I don't root for or against either team (followed the Niners during the Montana / Young years) but both have a credible argument at taking home the Lombardi.  KC has the more dominant offense (receivers and QB), SF the better defense and RB and what I'd call "balance."  KC has been held to less than 23 points exactly once all season (about 4 months prior to Superbowl kickoff) yet SF has actually scored 6 more points over the whole season so despite the perception, it's not that statistically significant.  The X factor for me is Mahomes.  He can be otherworldly and unstoppable and he's risen to the task so far; can he bring it one more time on the biggest stage in only his second postseason?  If yes, there's not much SF can do.  Garoppalo is talented / competent but he doesn't bring that same kind of danger / explosiveness.   Still taking the Niners.
