Any Letterkenny fans on the board? I’m not sure how to describe the show other than being a comedy about people in a small rural Canadian town. Currently on Hulu in the US and Crave in Canada.

This discussion about how Americans think Canadians say “aboot/aboat” reminded me of threads here.

My wife loves it.  I have caught a few episodes with her.  Right now I am trying to get her tickets for Valentine's Day to see the live show in Kansas City in April.  I tried when they went on sale and the tickets were gone in minutes.

I knew they had a live show, but didn’t realize there were US dates. There is an upcoming show in Los Angeles, which will probably be hilarious because of the cold open in one of the episodes where they totally mock people talking about LA.

I just finished all 8 seasons. It is amazing how many running jokes that are
quietly running thru the seasons.

Its very much like a foul mouthed version of Corner Gas.

I enjoyed the series, but haven't watched Season 7 & 8 yet. I thought it was very good stuff. I'm surprised at how much reach and popularity the show has outside of Canada.

A friend of mine told me he couldn't get past the repetition and that there aren't really characters, just stereotypes. I completely agree and still love the show because it is a live action cartoon. The exaggerated movements Wayne makes match his toxic stoicism and rigid perspective but by the end of 8 seasons I was hungry for more. I suspect the show will never delve into the why's of the plot, other than to use the supporting characters are returning joke delivery machines.

I personally really liked Marie Fred and wanted to know why what happened, happened. This is with the understanding that Marie Fred's dominating character traits were being beautiful and charming.
