Just look at all of the action on this double-page spread!

Dave was never shy about filling up a page!

(I do question Chris' choice of sound effects, tho. BOM? SPLOT?)

Let's not forget Cockrum's work on GIANT SIZE AVENGERS #2, where he inked...a bunch of people. (Neal Adams?) He did some pencils, too.

That should be well worth having.

Probably complete stories, too. . . . . . . . . . . .

Just realized Chris' SPLOT sound effect is from Iceman's snowball hitting Wolverine, not Cyclops' beam striking the back wall. So bad placement, rather than bad SFX.

But I still don't think a huge metal fist hitting human flesh (or something like it) would go BOM!

Dave Cockrum did a great original (pre-furry) Beast...

A snowball to the face makes noise, but Cyclops optic blast impact makes no sound? Never noticed that before.

Really enjoyed Mr. Cockrum's Futurians. I wonder if the Sunswift character based on Phoenix?

You’ve inspired me to pull out my copy of the Futurians graphic novel. Dave certainly was quite shameless when it came to character names. Gotta love it!

I loved the Futurians. I even managed to track down some of the short
lived series that came after the graphic novel.

Yes! And his Hulk was iconic too. He had a particular gift for humanizing and
showcasing overly-muscled guys.
