I'm not sure Biden picking her will help him all that much - she didn't do very well in the primaries. •• It's highly symbolic!

It was telling that within hours of the Harris announcement, Republicans were on- air saying she wasn't African American. They are very afraid it will energize black voters.
She is also very popular in the Indian community, which will be very important in states like Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan.

Brennan V. - Kamala was one of the final five or six candidates on that debate stage. And she didn't drop out because she was outclassed or out-debated. He campaign simply ran out of funds.
What a fucked up reason to stop running for president - money! That's not especially symbolic of a democratic republic, although it seems the current "American Way."
I think the big question is, will Biden/Harris make the best possible showing against Trump? And at this point, I believe she'll make a better president than Amy Klobuchar or Elizabeth Warren. And I think she'll get the attention, and votes, from women and persons of color who might simply say, "Eh, same old crap. I guess I'll skip voting again."
It was noted that a 10% swing in Michigan, Indiana, and Pennsylvania would have been enough to get a win for Hillary in 2016. Between Trump's own actions and statements, and a dynamic crusader in the two-spot, I believe this will help the Democratic cause in November.

Quite frankly, she was a part of the criminal justice industry that killed George Floyd.
*********************************
Bullshit.
If that was true, she would have ignored public opinion and gone after the death penalty in a case involving the death of a police officer. She's her own woman.

And we are already seeing birther posts on various social media sites.
This could be interesting as more and more people seem fed up with those tactics compared to a few years ago.
Trump is going to use the same tactics that got him in. While there are still a sizeable portion of people that will fall for that crap, I do think undecideds have moved on and this could seriously backfire.
Also, there is no longer the 'Hilary' factor, so things really could be different. It's going to be contested, but I think he may well lose.

I don't get it, FOX NEWS has just posted an article on its homepage titled: Health Questions for Biden Off-Limits for Media, Unlike Reagan, McCain, and Trump... when all they have been doing for months now is printing articles about Biden's health and fitness!!!

Byrnewell Predicts:Biden wins an even larger slice of the popular vote than Clinton. Trump loses a few disgruntled supporters, but still takes the Electoral College. Democracy is TRUMPED once again.

My fiance mentioned a headline about Sarah Palin giving Harris (unsolicited) advice, to which I played the clip of Palin singing "Baby Got Back" on THE MASKED SINGER (she never knew that existed, and frankly I envy her for that). Then I said "Yeah, I'm sure Harris is going to be looking to her for help".

I was amused to see an editorial at Fox News that tried to simultaneously characterize Harris as an extreme socialist but then also fault her for being too conservative for Berniecrats. You can't have it both ways. It literally feels like they are throwing everything against the wall, hoping something will stick.

Fox News basically trucks in emotion-based editorializing passed off as news. And most decision-making is trying to rationalize a thing you already feel, even if there's strong evidence to the contrary. So they're pursuing their mission to a tee: just make their viewers feel negatively and suspiciously towards Harris, just because. That it already plays off the prejudices of their older, whiter viewership is just icing for the base (who Trump is in no danger of losing, anyway).

An excellent choice. As AG she turned a barely 50% conviction rate inherited from her corrupt and/or incompetent predecessor into 80+% and impressed BOTH sides of the aisle. That strong "tough on crime" record will make it hard for Trump to broadbrush her as a wimpy liberal, though he will try. Both sides of the aisle have also commented over the years that she is "whipsmart," a welcome change from the present administration.

I think Rick is onto something - as a District Attorney and then state Attorney General - Harris might actually provide some "closet" succor to those liberals who don't subscribe to the "defund the police" school of thought.
