Let us remember too that those who oppose abortion are NOT pro-lifers; they are pro-birth. Otherwise, so many children born out of wedlock would have a home and foster family ready to take them in as soon as they are born to be raised in a family.
Once a child is born, no one cares about them; they're not interesting anymore, apparently. Those at the pulpit who cry out for those not yet born don't seem to have the least interest in those same children. They have identified the problem all right - but they have NO solution. This seems unfair to me. I mean, get adoptive parents, sponsor and fund an orphanage, SOMETHING - don't just complain and then forget about it. That's no solution.

I don't know if anyone is actually pro-abortion. It's best something decided by educated physicians and the people directly involved is all I feel about it. The world is not such a simple place where there are only baby killers, or guns are magic things where bad guys are always useless with one yet good guys are all perfect shots.

I don't know if anyone is actually pro-abortion. I prefer Pro-Choice--which is why I don't allow the Right "Pro-Life", and call them "Anti-Choice." That states their case much more clearly.

Pro-Life, certainly. My phrasing is accurate, but horrible. Pro-Life. (As I've said elsewhere, EVERYBODY is Pro-Choice; but some have already made their choice.)

I usually add that if people are really horrified by it they would be doing all they can to make sure people of limited means have access to birth control measures. Oddly some of the most vocal about 'they' are killing babies are the most against 'paying for someone else to have sex' (unless it's viagra for older men and vets 'they' never object to being covered?), or as Limbaugh misunderstood, that someone wanting a lot of sex will want a lot of birth control pills. The Vatican even approved use of birth control pills way back but a single Pope vetoed their ruling. :^[
There are limitations and regulations galore on abortion in most modern countries, I don't see why they are never enough... they'd rather drive desperate people, who absolutely have to think about money and their earning future to continue to exist, to falling down stairs, coat hangers or Mexico... real caring, but then just the girl is the 'sinner' right?

********************* I'm pro-choice, but not pro-abortion. I firmly believe a woman deserves the right to choose what she wants done with her body. I don't think abortion should ever be used as a "birth control device" though.

I don't think abortion should ever be used as a "birth control device" though. Historically, abortion was the number one birth control method in this country before it became illegal. The push to criminalize abortion came from two unlikely partners: doctors, who wanted surgical procedures performed only by doctors (abortions were mostly done by midwives), and early feminists who wanted wives to have the right to say "no" to their husbands. As is so often the case in this country, once abortion was made illegal, it took no time at all for people to assume it had always been so--just like "under God" has always been part of the Pledge of Allegiance.

They've reported that Coney Barrett had covid earlier this year, in the summer... I wonder if she could possibly be the White House 'super spreader'? They say 80% of infections are caused by 5% of the infected transmitting it. Some of these people of faith seem to expect God to have their back, and maybe she thought as she was one of the saved that now couldn't harm others?

Pro-Life, certainly. Tell that to the 13 year old who was raped by her uncle. Or the woman raped by her husband. Or ANY woman who became pregnant due to rape. Thats about 30,000 per year. Women are not just incubators.

The attack on abortion rights is an attack on people of color and the poor. Anti-choicers shrug at the idea of abortion remaining legal for anyone who can afford to travel to California or New York, but salivate at the prospect of ending all access to women's health care in low-income areas of the South and Midwest. The health care women receive at Planned Parenthood in those regions is often the only health care they receive at all.

Any discussion of abortion is at it's heart this: We want to control women.
I think we all know if men could become pregnant, abortion would be easily available

The root of the problem is that sex is considered bad (sinful) and pregnancy is considered punishment. Not for the men of course.
