Was informed by my local comic shop that Diamond never shipped my order of the Eaglemoss USS Enterprise 1701-C, D, and E multi-pack, and changed the order number to the Shuttlecraft / Runabout set, which was shipped instead...

I wasn't obligated to purchase it, but rather irritated it took an entire year for it to end up this way.

No problems with Eaglemoss myself, other than the occasional piece arriving bent or broken.

Batgirl had plenty of appearances in the 70's-80s with a grey bodysuit. She also had plenty with a good deal of black shading and grey highlights, which when standing next to Batman would obviously read as a black suit. So...very inconsistent. However, from a merchandise standpoint, she had a gray suit that goes back to her Mego figure in 1974.

BUT, they had to change the Infantino art on the packaging to make her costume look gray...

Doesn't alter the fact that in her first appearance the costume was BLACK, so anything else that came after was wrong.

This is the same effect we find with Batman, as his cape and cowl turn blue, with Spider-Man, as his red and black costume becomes red and blue, with the X-Men's school uniforms, with plenty of other characters. It is, in fact, the same thing that caused Wonder Woman's mother to change from a brunette to a blonde. Chasing deadlines, inkers start dropping out the blacks, and colorists start spreading the highlights to fill the open areas.

And then, of course, some fans, encountering the costumes for the first time in their changed forms, start insisting the lighter tones were what were intended all along.

Batgirl with the original black costume and red utility handbag is one of my favorite costumes ever!!  Batgirl with the GREY costume loses something sharp and crisp, to say nothing of original.

Never really liked Batgirl much as a character (Yvonne Craig
notwithstanding), but I agree that her classic look is one of the best
superhero costumes, ever.

Batgirl happened when I was no longer reading comics. The first time I ever saw her was on some Gil Kane layout sheets acquired by a guy I knew in Calgary in the early Seventies. (John Mansfield, who "discovered" me.)

I liked the design, but I didn't like further de-uniquing of Batman.

Zero X has been one of my favourite Gerry Anderson spaceships ever since seeing the opening sequence of Thunderbirds Are Go! when we see it being assembled prior to take-off.

The comic strip in TV21 drawn by Mike Noble cemented its place in my affections.

Anyway, this lovely model arrived today.

My only minor quibble is that I could have happily foregone the working escape pod and lost the obvious button on the front of the MEV. All in all though I'm really happy with it.

Oooh yes, a nice big Cloudbase (complete with Angel Interceptors) would be nice!

Hey, Robbie, what's that globby smear on the rear of the nose section? I thought it was a reflection, at first, but it seems to be present on the head-on shot, too.
