The big ticket item of the day, Captain America vs. Hunter Rose by Matt Wagner: Three years or so from conception to successful acquisition and well worth the trouble, IMO! :-)

You waited three years for this commission?? That's crazy. All nice stuff, Dave.

Last but not least, Firebrand (of All-Star Squadron fame) by Joe Jusko. If he and I make it to the show next year, I'm making sure I get to his table in time to get the rest of her! :-) (By the time I got to him this time, he had enough names on his list that he couldn't get a full body done by the end of Saturday. As it was, he was madly dashing to finish it while the lady on the intercom was being progressively more aggressive in her attempts to get con attendees to leave.)

Wilson, lest I unintentionally start rumors about Wagner's timeliness, here's the deal: I came up with the idea three years ago (a combination of a strange need to see a Matt Wagner Captain America and my standard desire to have unusual combinations of characters in a commission to help "justify" the costs of getting one). However, Wagner only does commissions in and around conventions he attends. So I had to a) find a show he was going to and b) get to him with enough advance warning to make it on his list (which I didn't pull off at the last Baltimore show). From him agreeing to do the pic to me picking it up was about 4 weeks (mainly because that's when the show was scheduled :-) ).

Too late, I already posted on several boards that it took him three years to do a commission. :-) What kind of board is the piece done on? Did he use some kind of paint?

It's a brown art paper, but I've already forgotten the name. I think he uses colored pencils for the color actually, but don't quote me.

I actually got this about 6 years ago (at JB's last Mid-Ohio Con :-( ), but could never get it to scan right until now: Mary Marvel by one of the Moy brothers (I'm embarrassed to admit I've forgotten which one, especially since this is one my favorite pieces in my collection):

That Sergio Bat Lash is pure genius! And I like that Jeff Moy Mary Marvel. I think Moy could be a good replacement for Jamal Igle on SUPERGIRL.

Dave, your Mary Marvel was done by Jeff Moy. Phil Moy signs his name as "PHI" That's what I'm seeing on the commissions and sketches I received from them. Edit - Forgot to add, it's a really great artwork too!
