For those who have been so kind as to ask -- my Dad is doing just fine. He
misses Mom, of course -- they were married almost 60 years -- but he is
getting on with his life, happy as a clam in the managed care facility he
moved into about a year before Mom died (after she went into "the home").

Sad news, you have my condolences, JB. Alzheimers is such a terrible disease. My wife's grandfather succumbed to it a few years ago, and it was almost a relief when he did. The entire family felt that same weight lifting off their collective shoulders. Again, sorry for your loss.
