Oh, and a bit of blasphemy here... I enjoyed JB's OMAC more than Jack
Kirby's!

••

That's not entirely blasphemous. Kirby's OMAC was a strange ride. I loved
it (obviously!), but I can easily see where others might not.

OMAC by both Kirby and Byrne were great books.  DC recently reprinted Kirby's entire run on some awfully nice paper.  I recommend it!

I was looking at that Kirby collection -- very tempting.

I always felt Kirby's OMAC came from the same creative juices as The New Gods -- OMAC was just such edgey stuff -- not "cutting edge" -- but out there and new and interesting (at the time).

Now --- well --- aren't they saying Batman created the OMAC robots or something?   Whatever.

In GENERATIONS 3 (which for some mysterious reason DC has chosen
not to collect in trade paperback form) I had Batman create an army of
OMACs to battle Darkseid's invading parademons. Next thing I know, the
"real" Batman is creating an army of OMACs.

Coincidence, I'm sure.

OMAC is terrific. One of my favorite books and a mini I've purchased for
friends to enjoy.

DC should do an Absolute Generations with all three miniseries.

Huh. With 52 freakin' Earths, DC should do a Generations regular series.

LOL

I guess I should read my GENERATIONS 3 series.

Forgive me -- it sits in a long box of comics I "intend" to read one day -- actually, about 3 long boxes.  But kids, wife and life always seem to cut into my reading time.

:-(

Yes and no. Since they were all created from clones of Buddy Blank. . . .

Um, maybe the word I was looking for was..."paradoxical".

Anyways, visually, it was pretty durn striking!
