Now about halfway through this book. I had read some of the author's other non-fiction titles and enjoyed them so when I spotted this on the shelf at one of my local libraries I snared it. If it finishes as well as it started I may have to add this one to my permanent library.

Finishing up PRAIRY FIRES about Laura Ingalls Wilder and her daughter
Rose Lane.
Excellent — with deep insight into, of all things, the roots of Libertarian and
even Trumpian politics.
If we something something history, we are doomed to something
something. I forget how that goes, but jeepers! This book is wonderful.

Just read TRUST by Hernan Diaz which won the Pulitzer (actually, shared the Pulitzer with "Demon Copperhead"; the first time in the award's history it was shared.) I was hesitant going into it as it didn't seem like my thing but truth is, it's an amazing book. Loved it so much.
Now reading BREATHING LESSONS by Anne Tyler at home and re-reading THE DEAD ZONE by Stephen King on my morning commute.
I also just finished ONCE IS NOT ENOUGH by Jacqueline Susann. People of a certain age may remember seeing this novel, along with Susann's "Valley of the Dolls", in their homes while growing up

Now starting UNMANNED by Dan Fesperman, a stand-alone thriller published back in 2014.
I have read nine mystery/thriller novels by Fesperman over the last two years. Haven't found a bad one yet. I am hoping this latest book keeps that string going.

Now about halfway through TOWER OF SKULLS: A History of the Asia Pacific War, July 1937 - May 1942 by Richard B. Frank.
I read one of Frank's earlier books and greatly enjoyed it. This latest one is supposedly the first book of a planned trilogy covering the war in the Pacific. It is very good so far, but given how long the author has taken between publishing, the second volume of the trilogy is several years away from seeing print.

Just finished SUBURBAN DICKS by Fabian Nicieza, a fun and very funny detective story.
Also read the new Bosch and Ballard novel THE WAITING. Connelly never disappoints.
Reading a Sci-Fi novel called SALVATION by Peter F. Hamilton. One of my favorite writers.

Working my way through AGE OF REVOLUTIONS: Progress and Backlash from 1600 to the Present by Fareed Zakaria.
I read two other books by Zakaria earlier this year so I thought I would go for the trifecta. It's very engaging so far and I still have about 100 pages to go.
