Lost Souls - The 4th book in Dean Koontz's Frankenstein series. I read the first 3 and they weren't too bad. Now, the completest in me is trying to finish out the series before I finish off Steig Larrson's Millenium trilogy.

Joe Haldeman's Camouflage. Highly recommended fun little read about alien lifeforms on earth long before we came along.

Just finished Dan Simmons' latest, FLASHBACK.
I love just about everything I've read of Simmons, but this is an over-long heavy-handed conservative diatribe of how the liberals have failed, do fail, and will continue to fail forever.
After the first 100 pages or so (of 500+), I thought "Okay, we get it, now we're going to get something interesting happen, right?" Turned out I was wrong.

TO AN EARLY GRAVE, the book upon which the movie BYE BYE BRAVERMAN is based.I'm usually leery of reading a book based on a movie I like, since it so often means I lose the movie, the book being so much better. In this case, it seems as tho the movie was a READER'S DIGEST version of the book, so rather than getting something radically different as I read, I am getting MORE.

Incidentally, I gave up on the SACCO AND VANZETTI book. Altho the author takes a neutral stand on whether or not the two were really guilty of the murders for which they were ultimately executed, the whole thing is a bit too "O.J." -- that is, if they were not guilty, they sure did a good job of acting like they were!

I have read "Darwinia" and "The Chronoliths" by Robert Charles Wilson, and am currently reading "Spin" by the same author, and am wondering if the author has been inspired by JB's last FF story (#292), as it shares some similarities.

Bill Bryson - A Walk in the Woods
Not at all what I was expecting. I was in tears laughing within minutes and did not stop until I stopped reading. I was expecting a dry nature journal, but this book is hilarious and really really good so far. Even if you have no interest at all in the Appalachian Trail I would still recommend it for entertainment value alone.

The Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell. I'd previously read What The Dog Saw and thought it was pretty good, but this seems a little repetitive so far -- like he has to belabour the point to try and pad it out to full book length.
