For me, it has to be Neal Adams, followed so very closely by Jose Garcia-Lopez.
They just click for me as the most iconic and on point depictions of the character.
Who is your favorite? Whose version speaks to you?

Marshall Rogers is another of my favorites.
His Detective run is nothing short of brilliant.
His Joker is amazing. His depiction always felt just a little off-model, but worked so well regardless.

Also, I'd be remiss if I left Brian Bolland's Joker off my list.

Batman and those characters associated with him are the hardest for me to pick a favorite version of since they've been drawn by such an amazing variety of artists over the years, but the first image that came to mind upon reading the thread title was this one, so I guess I'd have to choose Neal Adams.

Marshall Rogers.
And, while I don't think that THE KILLING JOKE holds up that well as a story, I think Brian Bolland's art on the book is as amazing now as it was then.

Another vote for Jose Garcia-Lopez! Although the list of possible contenders is strong. Like the Red Skull or the Doctor Doom of a previous era, it's hard to go wrong if you stick to the model... By the way, I wonder if this cover influenced the current Nu52 DC Glitteratti... "Final 'Face... Off...' Face! Off! My God, that's it!!"

Marshall Rogers' Joker totally looked like he could've been played by Cesar Romero himself — with just a few tweaks to fit him into the post-Neal Adams model of a genuine homicidal maniac.

Definitely Marshall Rogers for me too. The Detective Comics issue with "The Laughing Fish" was one of the comics I was given by an older cousin when I was around 8 or 9.

I'd have to go with Jim Aparo.
