The inking of the central figure's, the dark highlighted areas, immediately made me think "Tom Palmer".If JB were handed X-Men: Hidden Years today, he'd be doing it all. •• You know I asked Tom to ink XHY, right? I was hoping it would make the book look more like the issues it was "following". Not entirely successful. Tom was no long that Tom, and I, despite years of trying, have NEVER been Neal Adams! Amusing Side Note: As I was studying Neal's issues to get the feel I wanted for XHY, I realized really for the first time what he'd been doing with the shading on those glossy black costumes. I called Tom and told him. "It's basically backwards from how it would really look -- what should be highlights are mostly dark, and what should be shadows are mostly highlights." "Oh, dear," said Tom. "Now we'll have to kill you."
