@Eric
If the current GOP aren’t fascists....what are they? The “party” is comprised mainly of very wealthy white men whose sole agenda is apparently enriching the lives and lifestyles of other wealthy white men (and those who cling to them). And for 4 years they let an OBVIOUSLY unfit Trump shit all over they place...while McConnell quietly stuffed the courts with every knucklehead judge he could find to take up LIFETIME appointments.
The ONLY economic policy they ever go hard to bat for are tax breaks for billionaires. IF the GOP had the house majority currently...Joe Biden’s Presidency would be in serious jeopardy. Because they wouldn’t hesitate to do exactly what Trump wants them to do (overturn votes)....IF they could pull it off. The GOP is ready to dump our democracy today just like they were ready to do in the 30’s.
Can there be a such thing as “a little bit of fascism”?

Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffet. They earned their pile of loot, nobody gave it to them because they happen to be white men. Also, they are generally liberal, so the GOP probably wasn't behind their success.
The Far Left narrative that all the world's ills is because of white men is itself a deeply racist narrative. A story that was crafted by people who think their side can win in an all-out race war. It's not that simple. There will be no winners.

D.A.P. - I believe there can be a little bit of fascism. I don't think all the congressional Republicans are fascists, but I think some of them are RAMPANT fascists. And for my money, I don't respect every Democrat in Congress either.
But in the past four years - and I might even say the past 16 years - those Republicans somehow feel supported more and more, until they now feel confident enough to overthrow the Constitution. What can we say? Their constituents don't seem to care enough to stop them or vote for someone else, so their real power is their voters.
And while I know everything*, I could easily be wrong. These may be men and women who do indeed wish to cite a civil war, overthrow the government, and re-establish the USA in their own images. It didn't work in 1861 and I rather doubt it will work now; but consider that the outgoing President Murder has no compunctions about killing his own citizens, nor do the Proud Boys, nor a lot of Second Amendment zealots. It might be the case that the morning of Jan 20, 45 launches a couple of nukes against cities like NYC and Los Angeles - bastions of Democratic base governments - while those 112 odd Republicans who want to overthrow democracy tomorrow bring in armed mercenaries into Congress to assassinate those Democrats, and individual cities are stricken with organized assaults and bombings.
Far fetched? Without a doubt. But everything that happened in 2020 was beyond science-fiction too. Just a little civil war, enough to eliminate the resistance.
*Although I barely get the infield fly rule, and that damned blue line rule escapes me... :)

Fuck this Horatio Alger bullshit.
Bill Gates acknowledges the privilege that came with having access to personal computers when it was a luxury for most. Plus his mom had the connections to get IBM to contract Microsoft:
Jeff Bezos had his parents invest $245,573 in the company:
Mark Zuckerberg recognizes his privilege:
QUOTE:
He acknowledges that one of the reasons he was able to do so is because he was raised with a certain amount of privilege and financial security.
“If I had to support my family growing up instead of having time to code, if I didn’t know I’d be fine if Facebook didn’t work out, I wouldn’t be standing here today,” says Zuckerberg during a Harvard Commencement address in May. |
|
|
Warren Buffet recognizes it too:
Look at the racial income inequality gaps and ask yourself who has more opportunities and who doesn't.

Bill Gates's father was a millionaire, and a prominent and well-connected attorney who was "Bill Gates" in Washington until his son absorbed his name recognition in the early Eighties. And it's not like "Trey" was attending Harvard on a scholarship.

Some of the people who do make the biggest self-made noises often turn out to have actually mostly been 'born well' as they used to say in the old countries, you know, like the ones the U.S. was founded in revolt against; class system, taxation without representation. At the same time I think we should respect actual achievement from anyone even the 'born well's, as it doesn't make them inherently bad or undeserving, it's what you do with it right? Donald Trump has mostly been a pretend business man other than perhaps the branding thing built out of the pretend character he portrayed.
The sooner the world can forget about him and his family but for updates on the criminal proceedings news page, the better! He is more the owner of so many words he has used against others... like liar, crooked, disaster, loser, little, sleepy, coward, low IQ, low quality person. There are people who believed in president herd mentality crying their last tears in ICUs right now I'm sure. God bless the visible minorities and everyone else in Georgia not willing to reward incompetent and perpetual whining victims from the privileged classes with their power (votes)! A smaller tip of the hat to Republicans that aren't entirely corrupt, or at least just tired of kissing the big phony's coddled butt in fear of some extreme base.

An interesting metric at this point, is Trump's Twitter rating on BotSentinel. What he has accomplished here is very hard for a human to do, certainly without being banned from Twitter. (Edited to add actual picture)

As Trump "patriots" at the Capitol are now proving, they only give a crap about “law and order” when it suits a wannabe dictator -

I am watching Trump supporters wandering inside the Capitol...and they aren’t supposed to be in there. But nobody stopped them apparently.
What the actual fuck?!

Into the Capitol building, trespassing on Federal property. The vote is suspended. Scary stuff.
