What If #27 was one of those Answer: Everybody Dies and The Universe Is Destroyed issues.Usually I liked Mary Jo Duffy stories, but that one left me cold. The art inside was decent though, I remember that much, even if Phoenix does start the end of all things by kind of graphically murdering Kitty. Gee, hope I didn't spoil it for anyone. :^|

Nathan, I should have been clearer. I meant just the scenario for how she didn't die.

(O, how much I hated “majestrix”! There we were in a period of growing women’s equality, and Chris resurrects an antique suffix used to underscore female roles.)

I recall several WHAT IF? stories that ended like that.

That was one of the reasons I didn't like What If? stories. It's like the format encouraged not just reckless plotting but rushed reckless plotting. A lot of drastic shit is going to happen and fast.

So the UNTOLD STORY page above reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask for a while: did Terry ink these pages in '80 or '83? I ask because the inks look like Austin's thinner, broken line that he tended to use during the latter years. The unpublished pages were also printed as pencils only in-between so I had suspected that they were uninked for a couple of years.

Terry inked the unused pages shortly before UNTOLD STORY was published.

I really hope this book becomes a reality . Ever since this thread started back in June it has only gained more and more steam , even with JB meeting CB at Marvel .
Is this a typical timeline for getting a book approved to see print? I'm really hoping we all get a great announcement before year end.
