So, that doodle I did of the Scarlet Witch the other day prompted me to jump ahead a bit. Not sure just how far!

From the space for the indicia at the bottom, you can tell I intend this to be the first page of whatever issue it's in...

(Line keeps getting slicker and slicker!! How can I stop myself from redrawing the first issue??)

Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike this design for the Avengers Mansion? It bears only the slightest resemblance to Kirby's original (which opened directly onto the street), and my impression is that none--or hardly any--of the artists who drew it over the years bothered to crack open a copy of, say, ARCHITECTURAL DIGEST, or even stroll past the real houses that front on Central Park.

This is the curse of having a architect for a father, of course.

Whenever I draw the Scarlet Witch, I think back to Julia Lyndon, the PLAYBOY Playmate who was my "model" for Wanda. Looked her up yesterday, to find she is now 63 years old. Which still makes her younger than the Witch would be in Real Time!!

WOW!  That's a fantastic page.  I don't know how to describe it compared to the first issue pencils, which were absolutely fantastic -- but this is really masterful.

Heard a rumor on Facebook -- someone said there's been active talk lately of this series being published by IDW. (As far as I can tell, the person who said this doesn't work for IDW)

Instead of adding to the rumor machine over there, I thought I'd ask here -- any truth to that?

If this isn't the time to answer a question like that, please disregard.

This series couldn't be published with IDW without Marvel's permission because it uses Marvel characters! And what reasons would Marvel have to allow IDW to publish it (using some of its best characters) and Marvel not publishing it directly?
So the rumor has a lot more of options to be false!

IDW — In the event Marvel gives it a pass, Scott Dunbier has expressed an interest in publishing the pencils as an Artist’s Edition.
