I still remember the semi-shock of seeing that one Kitty drawing in the Art Of John Byrne... talk about a 'What If' idea. :^D

I'm thinking at least Wolverine can be allowed to drink a Labatt's or smoke a cig again. It didn't feel like the real him with that stuff excised.

Excellent! I don't know how I've been missing out on these forums in the past. No more.

For me as a young lad, the Sentinels were one of those rare creepy comic book entities that scared me. Something about those emotionless beings with only one goal had a powerful impact.

Sentinels are fun to write and fun to draw. Their sheer monolithic quality, the bull-in-a-chinashop aspect of, well, pretty much anything they do. Usually with large characters an artist has to stay aware of their surroundings, how much space they have to move around in. Not so with Sentinels!

+++++++++++++

I found Alex Ross' depiction of them (in MARVELS) particularly effective, as they swept through the city at night.

Big fan of the Sentinels. And their big, sorta-but-not-quite human faces are creepy.
