Riffling back through the thread, it was on P.76 that JB was asked earlier about returning to Hidden Years and the answer was : "Perhaps a trifle ironically, this thread has helped convince me HIDDEN YEARS has had its day."

JB said: '...little scribbles I add to nighttime windows to create “life”.'

This reminds me JB - I *finally* made it to NYC this past summer to experience it. I recognized the rooftop water towers from the comic books, and, of course, your skyscraper windows and window shades.

If a man dare wish (and there's little imaginary that I WON'T dare), I will harbor hopes that Fantastic 4ever will be "reinacrnated" as a series. But unquestionably, that's way in the future, IF it can happen.

I wish everybody would focus their desires on this becoming a series instead of suggesting all this other stuff for you to do.

It’s depressing how quickly the “what else ya got?” posts started showing up—and recurring—in this thread. On the one hand, flattering, sure. But on the other........

Apologies to you, Mr. Byrne; I didn't know that was a sore spot. I will NEVER let go of hopes of you doing FF any more... but I will certainly avoid mentioning it henceforth.

So... let's talk about the Avengers. That shot of the mansion is enough to warm one's cockles (and let's face it, who wants cold cockles.) And yes, you included my favorite Avenger, far and away. THE Avenger, one might even state. Edwin Jarvis. One of the worst things about the Iron Man movies is that Jarvis is the suit's AI instead of that character who holds the Avengers together by supporting their infrastructure.

It's also refreshing to see ONE team of X-Men without having to track characters and teams and scorecards... BLECHH. This is an era when we know who the X-Men are, who the graduates are, and that settles that. Not to say that I don't want to see more, new X-Men... but I am confident that Mr. Byrne would do it organically.

One of the things I'm enjoying about following the development of ELSEWHEN is the return of the feeling that "anything can happen". From here, unencumbered by all the barnacles that have accumulated on the X-Men and Marvel, you really can go anywhere, and do anything. It's a feeling that has been missing in my enjoyment of comics lately, where so much of what is published seems rote or uninspired.

In trying to preserve that sense of wonder that I'm feeling, I'm forcing myself to resist the urge to speculate about what may come to pass in the story and just "be along for the ride" again. But man is that difficult. Really hope this series comes to pass, just so we can see where you'll go with it.
