Interesting to see two approaches by the same hand. I prefer the bottom image, but I suppose you are more interested in what JB thinks ;)

Reducing this down to 600 pixels wide destroyed all the fine line work, but you get the idea of how it should look.

Nice job, Eric! :)
-- I don't mean to criticize, but Wanda's looking a little walleyed in the 4th panel

Nathan, I agree. That background eye's reflection has too heavy a line over it. Time for the white! ;)

Here’s an attempt at coloring straight from the pencils:

Happy New Year! I'm back to work and wanted to take a moment to say these last 'few' pages of work and comments has been a gift in and of itself.
Wow, JB.
Just wow.

I'm still digging the black and white inks on the previous page.

I think the pencils look a bit murky with color and no inks -- especially since Ben's "waist band" was darkened in the example above.
JRJR did a great lookin' non-inked, colored Batman special a little while back...
...and I'm guessing JRJR approached the pencils differently, knowing they weren't going to be inked. Much like JB approached the Captain America #255 pencils differently...

Yeah, the belt came out too dark, and looking at the jpeg here, it makes me think I should have darkened his mouth.
But it looks pretty good for pencils that weren’t drawn with the intention of being colored without inks. Obviously, JB would have made different choices if that had been his intention from the start.
