A bit more digging turned up these:
I think the pictures in this post and the previous one are from Comics Feature (the splash page of Jean was also on the cover) so I'm not sure where the pictures in my first post were published.

Matt's post prompted me to dig out my copies of the X-Men Companions. The pages in my second and third post are from volume 1 This also had the intended opening splash of 138 as a full page. Volume 2 had the two panels of Wolverine watching Jean leave and Nightcrawler giving her the flower.
So, the two pages in my first post might be from Comics Feature after all!
My brain hurts!

•• With all that space to the left, why on Earth did I have that car almost touching Wolverine's ear?? (Rhetorical question.)

Sometimes I see Calvary. Sometimes I see kanji. My mind associates Logan with Japan, to some extant, so this time I saw kanji for a moment before my brain translated it into Calvary.

More unrequited than “might have been”. I couldn’t imagine a scenario in which Jean and Logan would really get together.

I’ll mention in passing, here, that my planned two-parter for 6 & 7 has turned into a THREE parter. Unavoidable, with the Avengers AND the FF appearing!

Speaking of which, here's a non-SPOILER peek at an unfinished splash page currently on the board. . . You'll all note, I hope, that here I am trying to be faithful to the "vintage", while also keeping my own interpretation, as it's evolved over the years.

WOW!! That looks... well, Fantastic!
So cool to see you adding major players from the MU to this book as guest stars! To know the FF and the Avengers will be showing up at some point, along with my favorite period of the X-Men, is making this the most fun I've had following a comic book in a loooong time.
I hope the experience has been as rewarding to you as it has been to us following it.
Thank you for sharing, JB!

You're able to make the Thing look so solid and dense - like if I punched him my hand would be torn apart!
