Looks like a great punch and I can definitely see a modern take on a "vintage" look. Excited to see where that punch lands!

Interesting to look back to how this all started when it was just scratching an itch and then to get a glimpse of where you are now, and see how tight the pencils are -- and to hear how much you have produced!

Cool depiction of the Thing, punching up at something... big. Not often that we see the Thing drawn from that kind of angle. Looks good!

Wow!

I'm not sure if I even want to see this inked!

It is great to see it un-inked and unfinished. How enjoyable to see a piece in three different stages. I instantly had to go and see again the Progressional Commission from a few (!!) years back. The one with Iron Fist against The Wrecking Crew. Thanks again Mr. Byrne.

The second I saw the Thing, I could "hear" him saying, "It's Clobbering Time!"

And that's one outstanding Thing, I might add.

I hope this series won't become a might've been! I think the form and the readers actually need this!

Kind of a silly idea, perhaps -- but when (if) ELSEWHEN  #1 hits the stands, Marvel should think about releasing the "Untold Story" issue the first week of the month re-badged as ELSEWHEN #0 - perhaps having JB add a few "director cut" edits to the #0 issue which might play out later on in the series.

While most fans know the story - it would be neat to get a new digital colored release of the Untold Story issue which will fit perfectly with the new ongoing ELSEWHEN series.

I can dream, I guess

That's a great idea Geoff because I'm discovering all these alternative pages and endings on this thread...I didn't pay too much attention I guess at the time and I need to catch up...What are the best ways to learn about this anyway if your idea of an issue #0 doesn't happen ?

Philippe, probably buy a digital version of PHOENIX THE UNTOLD STORY or a hard copy off eBay, they're not too expensive but will probably go up if this series hits the stand.  It's also reproduced beautifully in Volume 2 of JohnByrne's X-Men Omnibus hardcover.

An issue #0 could potentially allow new readers to jump on, allow for a few subtle additions of a panel here or there to start a few new story threads and could have a cover gallery or something in the back for "coming soon" and show the next few issues covers of ELSEWHEN. -- and it wouldn't cost Marvel much to produce since the pages are already drawn.
