That's a bit early for the me too movement isn't it?

I don't mind being called Sweetie, sugar, or baby by
women. I get it all the time at food places.

I'm guessing this is not allowed at all towards women at
food places now?

When I spent a year in the north of England in the 90s, I discovered it was okay for older women to call me "luv" in shops, cafetrias etc. Frankly it freaked me out.

"More Roger Stern, I think!"

...

On these examples I was referring to Spider-Man Chapter One and the Jay Garrick story, in which you were the writer for all.

...when people complain that Sentinels are lame...

•••

Person, not people. It was Chris who insisted Sentinels are lame. I set out to show him he was wrong—and unfortunately created a storyline he’d mine for the next hundred years or so.

Keeping in mind that I read your X-Men run AFTER I read your FF run - I never really wrapped my head around the idea that the Sentinels would be able to beat the FF and Doom. They would have found a way to win!

It's a basic rule: Bad Guys lose because Good Guys win. Not necessarily because the Good Guys represent superior "fire power", but because, to quote Pansy Yokum, "Good will always triumph over Evil because it's nicer!"

Of course, in "Days of Future Past/Mind Out of Time" I didn't have to worry about the Good Guys winning. Just the opposite, in fact. I also didn't have to show HOW the Sentinels won. Convenient!!

(This is something I will be addressing in ELSEWHEN, whatever form it takes. Watch as I ERASE perhaps the Greatest Story I ever came up with!!))

JB, I'm interested to see if/how you address the stories from issues post #137. Last year you mentioned Kurt and Logan's trip up to Canada and the "Days of Future Past" looms as the most influential post Dark Phoenix story before you left the book. What stories or elements from the published book after issue #137 have you eluded to or outright included in Elsewhen? Within the first year of your departure the X-Men crossed paths with Dr. Doom, Arcade and Magneto. You have a very solid track record with all three of these villains.

MEANWHILE....

For the past few days I have been re-scripting Issue 1, NEW VISIONS style, as overlays on the art. This, of course, means I am being tortured by the art again. At this point, I am tempted to literally erase all the pages, and then re-pencil with my tighter line, based on the gray ghosts that would remain on the page.

Lot of work--but as long as there's ANY potential this might be a First Issue of a Real Series. . . . .

GAHHH!!!!!

Along those lines, here's a peek at what is now the first page, with script.

All the captions and the title are for position only.
