I do really like Jean's face in the final panel. For some reason I'm drawn (hah) to her eyebrows and eyelashes, and I feel like something would be lost by having them inked. The facial structure overall demonstrates how far you've come since XM#138 (honestly, I felt that your women's faces tended to be a bit too round at that time - but I felt that was something that you started to overcome during your FF run, and really perfected by NAMOR).

Honestly, there's nothing in that panel that suggests that Jean's mother had her hairstyle changed... it actually just looks UNDONE... seems right for the situation to me.

I don't see anything amiss with the parents and sister, they look like themselves inline with all their X-Men appearances, and Sara the sister looks consistent even with the John Buscema Sara from that one-off story that was originally in the b&w Bizarre Adventures magazine (or Mr. Buscema's looks consistent with Mr. Byrne's actually). Most of that chart is nonsense to me with alternate future children and clones and deceased people (oh my). I'm going to try and forget I ever saw that thing!

Somewhat instructive to realize how much I have depended on the eye makeup to create "my" Jean!

See what this book would be up against, folks?sigh ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------ Some people just want to suck the fun out of everything. I'm just loving this for what it is - I'm not going to compare, criticise, suggest, hope for it to become something more. All I'm hoping for is for the fun to continue

Very nice JB, the "What's with that toy?" line throws us a bit of hope : )
Side note, I don't think JB did this exercise to get a critique of his work or get tips for future plot points from us.
I'm going to thoroughly enjoy watching where he takes us on this trip. Let the driver drive and we can enjoy the ride. Let's not make JB "Pull this car over" because of the bickering in the back seat.
It's hard enough to deal with one editor on a project, I'm sure he doesn't want 100. Don't tell Picasso how to paint.

Side note, I don't think JB did this exercise to get a critique of his work or get tips for future plot points from us. •• As Tolkien said of THE LORD OF THE RINGS (and no, I am not comparing!), this is "a tale that grew in the telling." From a couple of random pages sprang a story in my mind -- a story with nowhere else to go! OF COURSE there will be those who fault it, especially those who have never before been this close to the creative process. A small sampling of what would happen, as noted, if this became, somehow, a real series.
