Well, now I can't do that -- and I am very grateful!

I was making it outrageous or "very not likely to
happen" on purpose. It was a joke I wanted to use before
the last page was posted when you said the next post was
a flashback (correction: subplot).

 QUOTE:
Every page ended on a cliffhanger...

When my 10 year old boy and I read comicbooks from the days of yore, he notices that all the time. It's an excellent classic technique. I've heard the late George Martin discuss how he and The Beatles endeavored to sequence each album with a song beginning and ending each side with especially notable tracks.

"Zen" jungle. No underdrawing, just let my mind drift and let the forms form as they will....

Something occurred to me as I was adding the sunbeams in the first panel: the Savage Land is in Antarctica. The sunlight there must be coming in nearly horizontal, when it come at all.

This is just a tangent, JB, but as I was looking for video of the sun's highest angles in Antarctica -- which do seem to justify your nicely rendered sunbeams -- I discovered an avalanche of comments that passionately-insanely all footage and photos are faked, a conspiracy, there's a flat-earth, etc. Yeesh!

Wonderful job, the close up of Wolverine are the star of the page. Especially nice is the leaves being pushed back bay his hand. I wish my Zen was a 10th of your Zen.

My first issue of Uncanny was #138 so it's kinda funny to think that in an alternate universe, THIS would have been my introduction to the X-Men. :)

At my LCS, I'm usually the one who informs them about discussions on here that pertains to comics but this thread was brought up to me on Wednesday. The guys and gal who work there are younger but know JB is my favorite comic book creator and it's cool that they checked the art out on this thread without me bringing it up to them. They've recently started reading X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Alpha Flight (based on recommendations not just from me but from the owner and other customers). They now recognize the brilliance that we "Byrne Victims"* speak of when we talk about what John Byrne means to comics. They totally get why this is such a wonderful thread and how cool it is for not just older fans, but for newer fans as well!

*The owner calls me that as a term of endearment.

The view tally on the main page is often wildly inaccurate -- even day to day! -- so I don't know how much credence can be given to the nearly 40,000 views this thread has received.

Stil, I'm going to let my cockles be warmed anyway (and try not to think about how many people are viewing these pages on other sites, oblivious to what's happening here).

I love how the bird wing lies under Wolverine's face in the panel above. And the expressions are terrific!
