I love this page! Nothing "happens", but the set up is rife with dreadful potential. It is so beautiful to see a pre-action page, with no action looking as dynamic as a free for all (which seems to be coming up.)

Stars, I feel bad for Cyclops. It must be like someone carving out his heart with a spoon again. Will the guy never get a break?

And Mr. Byrne, some questions....

Is that a plank sticking out of Wolverine's chest where his heart should be? And is he so enraged that he doesn't feel it?

I'm sure you're tired of guest stars - but do Angel, Beast, and Iceman count as "guests?" (I assume that Havok, Nightcrawler, and Polaris are still recovering.)

Does Cyclops carry his visor on himself? Or at least a backup visor?
COROLLARY: Do the X-Men have utility belts and they just don't look it? If I were a super hero, I'd surely bring a communication device, some basic first aid supplies, food concentrates, etc. Not Batman and Robin level - but some critical items.

Maybe the dumbest question, but is it day or night in this scene?

The potential on this page is horrific! The action already looks to be a trial and a terror! I must be a sadist, because I CAN'T WAIT!!!

JB, a question about color applied to the ruins and rubble scenes, do you think it is best to apply a single color with highlighting elements or just blend everything?

Q: Is that a plank sticking out of Wolverine's chest where his heart should be? And is he so enraged that he doesn't feel it?

A: No

Q: I'm sure you're tired of guest stars - but do Angel, Beast, and Iceman count as "guests?" (I assume that Havok, Nightcrawler, and Polaris are still recovering.)

A: I have no immediate plans for Warren or Bobby.

Q: Does Cyclops carry his visor on himself? Or at least a backup visor?COROLLARY: Do the X-Men have utility belts and they just don't look it? A: Scott carries those ruby quartz shades. No utility belt. That way lies pouches!

Q: Maybe the dumbest question, but is it day or night in this scene?

A: I’d say the sun came up around the time Wolverine started his run.

Does anyone else feel Scott's anguish building?

By not getting "that scene" where Scott stops and reflects on all that's come
to pass and how disturbing it all is to him-- I fill it in. I feel he has built a dam to
hold it all back so he can fight sentinels and Modok and carry on.

...Now the dam must burst. And he still has to lead.

I'm rooting for Scott Summers.

Thanks Wallace. JB gave a definitive answer.

My initial thought was Pablo or Carla.

I figured it was just the reflection of Mr Grey's in a glass pane.

Kinda depresses me that you'd even think about it.

This is a great page we're getting today-- feels like that long, slow ride up the first hill of a rollercoaster...

Sorry if I started something. Probably a side-effect of the page-a-day, I find myself pouring over and studying the pages more than I might otherwise. There's A LOT to look at.

Mark, I thought you were kidding about the figure, and was playing along with you. <insert "Face Palm Emoji here>

I'm glad to learn there are no secret X-Men utility belts!
