Perhaps the Phoenix entity requires a host? I try not to speculate because JB is rather good at putting all the necessary info out there to explain who, what, where, when and how. But discussing the story and posing general possibilities seems ok because all of our brains are getting scrambled right now. =)

Well, the Phoenix has Lilandra as its host at the moment. But its does seem to be drawn to Jean Grey and her emotions, I think it's safe to say if kissing Scott was any indication.

Maybe the Phoenix put too much of her energy into the copy and wants it back.

Steven, yes. That is what I meant, but neglected to say she has a preference.

On a side note, I find myself equally engaged during 8 pages of "story" like the current issue or 8 pages of "action" as we have had with issue #10. This year has flown by at a page a day. =)

I wasn't sure if the gaff had been truly blown of this Jean being a copy... so is it officially out of the bag now? Or could be some situation other than this? I only realized not long after posting about Jamaica Bay maybe not having anything/one under it she was possibly not 'thee' Jean Grey. I was thinking that might still not be what is going on though, hoo nose... happy to wait to see what is ultimately revealed.

I totally agree, Eric - this issue is just as gripping as the "action" issues. I
didn't even realize it until you mentioned it!

Each issue gets better and better. I never thought we would see a story that
went down this road, and what a ride it has been so far!

@Rebecca: I'm not ruling any twists out at this point as I am often wrong when I think I've figured things out!

Right now, we know Phoenix made a copy of Jean Gray. The X-Men do not.

The Jean we’re seeing in this story is the copy, and something’s going on with her level of existence, possibly based on Phoenix taking on a new host.

As for the real Jean, we don’t yet know her fate, but based on mentions from JB here and there, seems she might be at the bottom of Jamaica Bay.
