The process of reconfiguring my understanding of the X-Men stories with Phoenix was weird when X-Factor launched.
It's really weird how completely I am repeating that process today!

My bad. I mistook "copy" for "inferior." Assumed Phoenix did that in order to leave something out.

Oh, it/she was leaving something out... but Jean had other ideas.

JB: In this version, the Phoenix is not corrupted. It/she is ancient evil.

Ah! I'd misread... thank you for the clarification!

Best bottom of the harbour scheme ever!
JB, is the texture around the Shi'ar spacecraft in the last panel done with an electric eraser?

Everything about today's page is so cinematic. It moves the story quickly and efficiently, but the small details carry the day, adding to the mood.
For instance, I like the posture of the chastised alien technician in the upper right panel (looking sideways through half-closed eyes!), and how Lilandra's (leopard spot!) cloak drags in the middle panel as she walks away. Even the Lilandra head shot is simple, yet striking.
So enjoyable each day to see what gets revealed. So rare too, not to be able to anticipate the plot.

This is the same Lilandra that put Reed Richards on trial.

This is the same Lilandra that put Reed Richards on trial.•• Same issue in which I got to say I didn't like her! ;-) That whole story came about, of course, because of Chris including an editorial comment about my Galactus story in one of his tales. Without permission from the FF editorial office.
