Maybe Magneto's M-Men can simply be THE MUTANTS

Kinda goes back to Stan's original idea and makes a kind of ironic twist.

and no need to change the belt buckle!

I’m not going to be showing the defeat of the WHAT IF? Avengers, FF, etc. Talk about being pulled away from the main story!
****
Good idea, things better left unseen, better left to the imagination. And something Marvel should learn. Marvel would not miss the oportunity for making this storyline a big crossover event and they would have a whole side miniseries devoted to tell that fight (even worse they would have one for the Avengers, another for the FF, and another for the origin of Magneto´s team...  The more milking the better for them).

I'd be up for entire Marvel Elsewhen Elsewhen.  That might stretch our Host, however, and perhaps unwanted scrutiny from certain corporate corners.

Alas, what might have been!

Wasn’t the ‘X’ of X-Men about an ‘extra’ something rather than Xavier’s initial?
Maybe the ‘M’ would be the same concept. Rather than standing for ‘Magneto’s Men’ it would stand for something important and superior.

The Magnificoes.
The Magnificent Men (Mag Men for short).
Or Mutant Militia (M-Militia).
Or as someone else said, simply ‘Mutants’ and ‘Mutts’ for short.

Maybe Magneto would name them something humiliating like ‘Magneto’s Maggots’

However, Magneto is probably so self-obsessed that the M does indeed represent his ‘brand’. Ownership. ‘Magneto’s Men’ again, Mag-Men for short.

Or in honor of my persistent typo: The Magenta-Men!

Er, no... definitely not. Sorry about that, I must have gremlins in my dyslexic fingers... :^/

"...A HUNDRED TIMES THE POWER OF YOURS!"

Come on, JB! That's not fair at all! With the X-Men fractured and facing a Mutants team possessing more power (including that of two Magnetos) than them, I am again left wondering how on Earth our heroes can hope to prevail. *nervously nibbling nails*
