It's only right that Reed keeps an electronic eye (or a hundred) out for any sign Doom is making trouble in New York. And it's great to see the team getting ready to take on their old nemesis--but first they might want to warn Johnny about taking on two world-class supervillains by himself!

I wasn’t thinking so much about Reed using visual scans. I’d imagine Doom’s armor has a unique energy signature.

It might be something Doom wouldn't consider, though. But scanning for his armor's energy would be elementary for Reed.

Didn't get a chance to see the page until this evening - what a great surprise! The definitive Marvel team by the definitive FF writer/artist. JB's FF run was my first exposure to comics, it will always be my favorite run. Those first 30 issues stack up against ANYTHING.

I'm glad that JB is giving us the opportunity to see what he would have done with the X-Men had things gone differently. It's a terrific story and I feel lucky to have the chance to read it.

My sentiments exactly. What I love most about this is how JB has shown that the X-Men are apart of the Marvel Universe. It seems that at some point X-Men stories got insulated within themselves. We have been treated to the Avengers, Alpha Flight Spiderman and now the FF and Doom

This experience just gets better and better. I love your run on the FF - it is just so perfect (even Kirby would have been a little jealous). I bought it when it first came out, then the trades that collected some story arcs, then (finally) I bought each of the Visionaries trades so that my wife could read it.And here I get to see more of your FF the day after my wedding anniversary. WooHoo!
Oh yeah, as good as Buscema may be, I firmly believe that your art is better.

I agree with Tshombe- where the post-JB X-Men became more and more isolated from the rest of the world (or at least its superhuman community), JB's story has included a number of guests while avoiding "with special guest star!" syndrome. Not too much, not too little, just right.

Becoming more and more isolated was a self-defense mechanism on Chris' part. As "mutants" became the Big Selling Point at Marvel. other offices started poaching the X-characters without clearance. So Chris did all he could to move the characters away from easy access.Can't say I blame him!!
