I’m not too keen on the idea of Nightcrawler teleporting parts of people. I am curious to know whether or not Kurt could do something like touch Cyclops’ visor and teleport it along with himself, leaving Scott sans eyewear.

Well it's a good thing that these guys are heroes.
There'd be nothing stopping a villainous Nightcrawler from picking up a sword, a lead pipe, or a baseball bat --- extending it outward, and then teleporting the length of the shaft directly into someone's head, himself remaining several inches away from the target's center.
Sprite has similar lethal qualitative abilities.
Thank goodness for the Comics Code, right?

Probably worth bearing in mind that Kurt's power in this story operates according to JB's conception of same, and that uses subsequent to the Dark Phoenix story would be "non-canonical" in ELSEWHEN.
If JB says that this is how Kurt's power works (which would indeed allow him to teleport Scott's visor away from him, since it isn't a part of Scott's body), then that's how it works.

Great point Andy. Forget what you read in later X-Men stories while in the Elsewhen.

JB,
Do you have your own favorite moment in the series, up to this point?

Today's page is perfect example why I asked about teleportation: I have always loved seeing your exploration of physics, character powers, and teamwork on the page. It's all so much fun. (raises coffee mug) Cheers!

MEANWHILE...At the offices of First Manhattan Insurance, Milt Mulholland takes a call.
MILT: Hello, this is- VOICE (off phone): Milt, it's Sadie at Union Confederated! There's a superhero battle going on and some guy in a purple cape is throwing cars at a demon and... MILT (small): ...dammit. (pause) I'll be over as soon as the mayor sounds an all-clear, Sadie. Let me know where to meet after you've been evacuated, I have copies of your corporate policy here.
COMMENT BOX: Just another day in the office for MILT MULHOLLAND, INSURANCE ADJUSTER!
