So Clinton removed documents that belonged to the government. Its the same thing.
No, it's not the same thing. Per this article, Trump is being investigated for completely different (and far more serious crimes) than Clinton was. I've quoted the relevant portion below:
Berger pleaded guilty to a violation of 18 U.S.C. §1924, the law against possessing government documents you shouldn’t have. Hillary was never charged but the allegations against her also revolved around §1924.
The unsealed Mar-a-Lago warrant reveals that Trump was pointedly NOT searched on suspicion of violating §1924. The warrant states that the DOJ is investigating possible violations of 18 U.S.C. §§ 793, 2071 , and 1519 — all much more serious crimes than §1924.
So at least part of the reason the matter was “handled so differently” is akin to asking why cops don’t approach grand theft auto and shoplifting the same way even though both suspects are “suspected of mishandling someone else’s material.”
***************************
The writer also makes the point that even if Trump was being investigated for the same crimes that Clinton had been, the matter would be treated differently now because Trump himself upgraded 18 U.S.C. §1924 from a misdemeanor to a felony in 2018. So that's now considered a more serious crime than it was prior.

I just get the feeling that Trump thrives on violence or wanting to see violence as well. His personality is directed towards getting others to cause harm to others.
In business, it may have been destroying someone financially or professionally (maybe helped at times by the Mob).
As POTUS he sensed he had the power over people to inflict suffering.
I mean his thinly veiled threats about the FBI, etc. would land any pf us making them in jail.
Trump has lawyers fighting battles on multiple fronts. And those lawyers come in bunches for each legal kerfuffle he is in. And those lawyers cost LOTS of money. So he seeks to monetize EVERY bit of drama thrown at him so he can pay his bills! He actually NEEDS drama to keep his cult of followers engaged and enraged. Its just insane to think there are solidly 30 million or so people who are so fully invested in him. Its simply unfathomable.
David, Trump is not paying his own legal bills. Remarkably enough, they are being paid by The Republican National Committee. So the money he is raising through his constant fundraising is going into his own pocket. He truly is the greatest con man who ever lived. The width and breadth of his scams and the amount of people who have been sucked in by them is truly unprecedented in world history. It really is scary and puzzling the degree to which people are taken in by him and also willing to continue enabling him.
Brian, the most recent stories I find quote unnamed RNC sources as threatening to cut him off if he announces as a candidate before the midterms, but nothing about him actually being cut off yet. So they seem inexplicably to still be enabling him.
Am I the only one that is alarmed at how much I feel like I need to take a shower after reading any news about a former President of the United States?
