It's sad that Pence, Cruz, Rubio, etc think they can ever be elected president after demonstrating so much weakness. The very faction they're toadying to holds them in contempt.
Pence may think he can follow in the footsteps of Hubert Humphrey, who leveraged his 1968 presidential nomination out of party discord, social unrest and procedural high jinks at the convention despite being repeatedly and publicly pantsed by his supposed partner in the White House. So maybe Pence hopes to follow that precedent into uh yet another humiliating defeat.

The Trump-appointed judge has granted a Special Master to review the Mar-a-Lago documents: NPR (chosen for lack of paywall)The Intel community may apparently continue their investigation (not sure how that's going to work).
Standard practice with TFG whenever he's in trouble. Stall and stall until they get bored and go away. Not going to work here. This isn't about porn star hush money--there's far too much actually serious National Security stuff at stake.

You sure wouldn't want the appearance of unfairness to the guy who promoted yet another young judge way beyond her level of experience due to political affiliation, no siree. Best let her grant him what he wants that will greatly delay the investigation into him by your department of justice!
The fubar runs deep in this one.

The most disturbing thing about this judge's decision is that virtually every legal pundit assured us that a special master wasn’t going to happen.
That he's allowed to host rallies thru all of this is even WORSE.
Could Biden legitimately begin taking similar files to his home in Delaware to highlight how the Rule of Law has gone amuck??

I think Biden should drive the Presidential limo ‘the beast” home and keep it. Just declassify it and it is his.

C'mon. This is beyond serious. If this is true, he really needs to go to jail without passing go.

It doesn't sound good, but objectively the article is scant on details. Until you've seen the complete picture, it's impossible to judge with any certainty on how serious a breach it is.
Sometimes intelligence agencies consider something classified even though the information may already be publicly available, having been reported through other channels. I'm not saying that's the case here, but I'm saying we don't know and cannot say with the information available.

C'mon, Peter - way too much sliding scale there. And it's not as though it was a single instance; there's hundreds of pages of classified documents, as well as empty folders that held classified docs.

It does sound like the Justice Dept are going to be able to make a case, but as I say -- I don't have access to the information to say that with any conviction. I was commenting specifically, however, in regard to Greg saying he needs to go to jail without passing go based on the link he provided.
