Thanks for the replies, everyone.

Went to see a heart surgeon this morning, and he wants to see if the medicines I'm on - including what the cardiologist put me on recently - help with the fluid in my legs and improve my heartbeat. 

I meet with my cardilogist again in late September, and then with the surgeon again a few days before Halloween. 

If I have to have surgery, I'll be out of work at least three months. Oh, joy....
