I used to know one about a sign maker Please remove and and and and add and not and and and I knew a friend from Ghana whose mother drilled into him ‘I ask for an axe, not axe for an axe’.

I don't mind "no problem", but I don't like being told "have a good one" by store and restaurant employees. Seems too casual. Am I getting old??

I occasionally counter “have a good one” by suggesting the speaker say “hope you have a good one.”Less pressure.

I believe it was George Carlin who said that when people tell you to have a nice day, they're putting all the pressure on you.
I avoid saying "no problem" instead of "Thank you". Instead, I try to say, "any time" or "a pleasure".

I will probably never get lay/lie. Even when explained, I still don't get it.
But years ago, somebody explained who/whom in the easiest terms:
who = he/she whom = him/her
And as for the less/fewer debate, if it's countable, it's "fewer." So yes, most express checkout line signs are incorrect.

If there are four glasses of water, and one is emptied, there is less water. If one is removed, there are fewer glasses.
