I'm going to have to dig out some reference, Man-Wolf looks odd to me.

At first I was going to say that his face suffered from the same cat-like makeover that befell the Beast, but looking at his first appearance in MARVEL PREMIER 45 I would have been wrong...
The biggest difference between the cover and the sculpt is the costume. Other than that, he looks pretty spot-on.

Matt,
That's not Man-Wolf's first appearance. He first appeared in Spider-man.
The Marvel Premiere issues (there were two) was an aborted attempt to give
him his own book (I think). That's the story where he finds out he's a "god"
on an alternate world. That's his Star-god (or whatever they called him)
costume.
The sculpt is of his original ripped up astronaut "under-suit" that he wore
into space.

Here's a paintshop version of Crystal with various changes. The hair, boots, gloves and headband needed major changes that would go far beyond just repainting and the major correction that I saw was reducing the ribcage/waist. Her shoulders are still a little too broad but I was trying to do a digital version of what might possibly be done to make the actual figure more like JB's drawing.

I knew that. Don't know why I typed "first". My bad.
Point still stands, however, in that the Man-Wolf sculpt looks representative of the character from the comics just with a different costume.

I had a Marvel figure customized. He started out as Nick Fury. This is a photo before he was shipped to me. Unfortunately his arm came off in shipment so I have to repair him.

Not a ROM fan, but Ace did fantastic work on that! He's the best of the best across the street.
