Midtown has changed Cyclops, Ultron, Mysterio and Deadpool (who is actually Out of Stock) from Pre-order to Buy Now!!  Happy day, a new shipment looms...

Waiting for a similar email for my Ultron. Mysterio, alas, will have to wait a while. And dammit, I still need Reed Richards to have a complete FF.

Ultron is on the way from Midtown and I just picked up Mysterio at my LCS.  He looks good with my green Spider-Man villains, Lizard and the Goblin.  The paint job is simple and needs little touchup on the box pattern.

No Cyclops, I'm still anti-X-Men.  Deadpool?  Ah, no.

My LCS has caught up with Midtown so I'm getting them there now. This
should help me weed out the bent/broken ones. Today I got Ultron, Cyclops
(not crazy about that suit), and Mysterio. Passed on Deadpool.

No Cyclops, I'm still anti-X-Men

++++++++++++

And that's something I never expected an Alpha Flight fan to say!

I have Cyclops for quite a while (my first figurine, in fact) and I kinda like the costume (I am an Astonishing X-Men fan, after all). The wife persuaded me at some point not to paint him over and since JB himself drew him in this costume recently...

My only regret about this collection is the lack of continuity : the Avengers are great, because they are almost all in their classic costume (Cap, Thor, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye, Hank Pym, Vision, ...) BUT WHY THE BRAND NEW IRON MAN ARMOR ? Eaglemoss had almost released a perfect run on the Avengers line up except this one. Okay, the figurine is great with a lot of attention and details, but I miss the Classic Armor.

I don't talk about the Xmen, since the "Continuity" is totally screwed on this team. Eaglemoss mixed almost every era of the team here, too bad ! But I like all of them, even the Beast with all the fur effect !

That CGI Iron Man cartoon over on MarvelKids has really gone a long way
toward winning me over on the "new" armor. Sure, it's not as smooth and
sleek as the truly classic suit, and by Gar, Blackhawk! I sure don't think I
would ever want to draw it!! -- but seeing it actually in motion made me
appreciate why, in this case, maybe more is more.

The original gray is still my favorite, of course. You know, Iron Man!

Sure, that CGI cartoon is cool ! I like the Hulk, especially when he walks and jumps !

Back to the Iron Man new armor, I miss the time when Tony was able to carry his armor in a suitcase. This one is just "too much" for me. He just doesn't have to switch from one armor to another one anymore : with this one, he can fight the Hulk, go into space, ... BUT, once again, very good job Eaglemoss, even if it is a poor choice imo (always that continuity thing, you know ...)

If Marvel has any influence on the version of the character released by Eaglemoss, I am surprised they didn't come up with the Ultimate version ...

About the X-Men, I think they wanted to capture the current Astonishing X-Men team (Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Kitty, Colossus and White Queen) and that screwed up all the rest as they stareted making arbitary choices on which version to depict.

As for the Avengers, Iron-Man really seems out of place.
