JB--I agree with your point about the Superman sculpt missing some finer points. What would you do to the sculpt to fix it?

Scrap it and start from scratch.
Meanwhile, added another Black&White Batman figure to the collection…
(The one at image center.)

To me, it seems like the sculptors that are trying to capture Kirby's style in sculpts are doing a caricature. It seems like they don't understand the beauty of Kirby's art. It's like an American butchering someone's foreign language, everything is lost in translation. It seems like the sculptors trying to mimic them are completely unfamiliar with the comic artists work, be it Kirby or Byrne etc etc.

My guess is that DCD wants to have it both ways. They want fans of (insert artist name) to buy it, and they want those who don't care for (insert artist name) to buy it too. So the figures are made to look like something neither group can quite identify or reject.
That, or the sculptors don't know what they're supposed to do.

Hey everyone,
I receieved a very welcome (it's been a bad week, what can I say) package when I got home: 3 WOMEN OF THE DC UNIVERSE busts: Wonder Woman Cheetah (brilliant!) Wonder Girl
I was wondering... they were packed well, the Cheetah and Wonder Girl are perfect; however, on the Wonder Woman bust the Diana Prince glasses she holds in her right hand are a little weird. They are loose in her hands and feel like they aren't part of the porcelain bust -- they seem as if they are made of some kind of very fragile, soft plastic (dare I say they are almost paperish?).
If anyone who also purchased this statue wouldn't mind taking a peek at their Wonder Woman for me and let me know if you notice anything like this, I would appreciate it. Should I try to return it?
Thank you!

JB,
I am SO, SO, SO sorry... (hangs my head in shame). I went a little crazy when I saw how nice the Batgirl bust was.
(P.S., I still hope some of you can take a peek at the glasses on the Wonder Woman bust for me sometime this weekend... thanks, again!)

I don't believe that anyone has posted a picture of the Human Torch yet, so here's his Mugg version with The Thing.
