The cover is simple, brutal and effective. I was trying to think of ways it could be reimagined, but came up blank.

The #200 milestone and JB's cover made me buy this comic right off the stands, knowing nothing about Daredevil other than the stories in Son Of Origins and guest-starring roles in Avengers and Fantastic Four. I remember being very disappointed.

While Luke McDonnell has a decent body of work, it would be dang near impossible for any artist to live up to that cover on the inside. Besides that, if you didn't know the long history between DD and Bullseye leading up to this issue, there's no way it could have all that much impact.
btw...do you know who colored this cover? I've got the color guide to it. :)

Hey, I like that Dark Phoenix, Daniel. Is it as vivid in person as the
scan makes it out to be? Not the classic outfit for her, but not a
stretch either.
Yep, markers on plain paper. Ok, not as "great" as artboard, I'm pleased regardless.

Dave Ross was one of the guests this past weekend at a local convention. I grabbed this Alpha Flight page from him. It's not from the most well regarded era of the book, but I fondly remember stealing my older brother's copies went he went away to college.

I also got this drawing of the Flash from Chris (Mini-Marvels) Giarrusso at the convention. We'll be hanging it up in my daughter's nursery.
I'll be updating my CAF Gallery later with the sketches I got at the convention.

What Bill Mantlo did on Alpha Flight still makes me seethe inside, but I have
to say, that's a nice lookin' page you got there. Gerry T.'s inks were always a
joy to behold.

Looking back on the issues, I can objectively say they're no where near as good as the original run, but I have a soft spot for them.
Edited to add: I hit Post Reply before I typed, "Thanks, Al."

Thanos: re the X-Men 133 page; from what I understood more pages from this issue looks like these. And I can see Terry Austin used different materials to ink the pages. Some resulting more in some fading. Oh well....no choice if one wants anything from the issue ;)
Derek: Thanks! Dr. Doom is so cool and your commission is a great one!

Adam, I love Chris Giarrusso's stuff. I'm jealous that your daughter will get this piece. (I'm not above stealing candy from a baby, so watch your art!) :)

Eeeep!
Paul he had probably a dozen similar pieces with him at the show. His prices were insanely low. You should check out his website to see if he has anything like it up there.
