Luke Cage : Power Pony is great!
(put my vote in for the Iron Fist request)
I literally do Not know how you manage to paint the ponies in
such smooth coats. Airbrush?
Your finished product is store quality. It doesn't look
'home-made' at all. Excellent effort.
(I showed my daughter, and she wants to tell you she's a fan your work. :) )

Okay folks, got a bunch of pics of my latest project (started this one over two years ago . . . glad to be getting done with it!). Here's how it started out -- one scratch-built Captain Marvel JLU head sculpt:
Painted:
Some donor body parts from a Superman figure and a phasing Martian Manhunter figure; used Kneadatite ("Green Stuff") for the first time to sculpt the details and the cape:
Then shot with a coat of primer to bring it all together (I etched the lightning bolt on his chest with a Dremel tool bit):

Here's how things look now -- spent the past couple of weeks applying coats of paint . . . somewhere between the gray primer and the final product I shot it with matte white Krylon Fusion, which really made it "pop" (that also worked out to be the final coat for the cape):

A few more shots:
Really proud of how the cape turned out:
The rope for the cape is also made of Kneadatite -- that was the primary hold-up on getting this thing finished; I just couldn't bring myself ot finish the rope and "buttons" for the cape, and I was dreading doing the yellow edging for the cape (the sculpting is the "fun" part for me . . . the painting is where everything can so so wrong so quickly, which makes it my least favorite part).
I still need to glue the cape on (it hangs nicely, but it's not even secure enough for static display without gluing), then shoot it all with a clear satin finish to seal it. I'll probably pick up a base for it since it's a bit top-heavy (aren't ALL the JLU figs top-heavy without a stand?), then I plan to take a few final pics for the fall CustomCon. After that, it's probably going on eBay (so if any of you Captain Marvel fans are interested, feel free to drop me a line via the e-mail link here!).
Pretty proud of this one . . . kind of embarrassed that it took so long to finish.
So it goes.

He looks outstanding, John! And if we were to dig out old projects still unfinished, well, I'd be well onto page 8 or 9 before I was done (just don't make me wait too long for that other red and yellow project I know you have going on).

All you customizers have MUCH to be proud of! The closest I ever got was painting a grey base-coat on a Marvel Spider-Woman (black costumed Julia Carpenter) to turn into a Troia. I completely lost interest after that madness.

Great work guys! Love the little ponies Jodi. very creative. Luke Cage is Fantastic. John, nice work on that Captain Marvel and the other JLA models.
There must be something in our water here in Indiana. And I like it.

John Wow very nice!!! I LOVE that you took pictures of the steps, that is really cool.
James Thanks so much, Indiana has so many creative people because it's such a boring state there isn't much else to do, but create. LOL no Indiana is a pretty nice state.

No I use a brush, I have an airbrush set, I am kind of nervous with it, I have never learned to use it. Also tell you daughter I said thanks.
While I am waiting to get my other black My Pretty Ponies in the mail I worked on a custom Mighty Mugg, it's Stan Lee
